Legend 1997 was named in tribute to the lead singer's (Su-Metal aka Nakamoto Suzuka) Birth year. This show was the day after her 16th birthday. When she climbs the steps, you can briefly see happy birthday written on the bassists head. Moa and Yui were 14 at the time. The song is basically about a 15 year old girl going to her first concert and realizing she is no longer considered a child in Japanese culture. As for the band, they are known as the Kami Band, Kami meaning ghost or spirit thus the white faces and corpse like robes. ehm, nope, Kami doesn't mean ghost or spirit, not at all, the word for that is Yokai. Kami is a divine being or spirit, hence why "God" in japanese is Kami-sama. They're in white painted faces and white robes because that's how gods are depicted in japanese art: with pure faces and clothes of the purest white.

Good reaction. Babymetal are amazing. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻 the lead singer is Su-metal, the dancer usually on her right is Yuimetal (who has since left) and the last is Moa-metal. The musicians are a session band called the Kami Band, who play live for them. They have opened for Lady Gaga, RHCP, Korn, Metallica and Guns N Roses. 😊 the idea for Babymetal is their producer/manager Key Kobayashi (Kobametal), and they held their ten years anniversary last year by playing ten shows at the Budokan arena in Japan. They are in their mid twenties now btw. And I heartily recommend "Road Of Resistance live in Japan ". Oh and this song is about a 15 year old girls first metal concert.😊

Su-metal (the lead singer) was in a girl group dedicated to sing for an anime... when she was 9-10 years old. She's now 24 (about to turn 25 next month), she's called "the Queen" for a good reason and still leading BABYMETAL. They are backed by an amazing live band (called Kami Band) and selling out arenas all over the world. So, forget about the anime thing. 🙄 Don't worry, they are not that scary... well Moa is a little scary but not in that way LoL. Su-metal is a bit intimidating though. Yui (one of the "peripheral" girls) left officially in 2018 after being absent since October 2017. So they continued as a duo and never replaced her. Instead of that, they implemented a group of three girls (called the Avengers) who rotates to cover Yui's "old spot" but with a dancing only role. And you are right about Su-metal. She has a great singing voice and she is not only the leader of the group but also the main reason why BABYMETAL was formed 12 years ago. You have the whole story explained on other comments so I'm not going to repeat the same. 😁 "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "Hedobangyā!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!) is about a girl who attends to a metal concert the night of her 15th birthday. And that's an important number because that age marks the end of compulsory education in Japan so young people have to make some important decisions in life. So, the song is actually about growing up and leaving the childhood behind, with a hint of nostalgia. Hope you can process all the info you have already been given. 😁 Until next time

Kei Kobayashi came up with Babymetal. He is a producer working for the children's division of Amuse entertainment. He had the idea of combining Japanese Idol and Metal. But just as a possible project. He decided to do Babymetal when he saw Suzuka Nakamoto performing live for the farewell performance of Karen Girls. Karen Girls were a 3 girl Idol Group created to perform the music on a 1 year contract for the Anime Zetai Karen Children. So it was Koba but also Su. Obviously Koba knew that Suzuka Nakamoto was under contract in his talent agency. He chose Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi to 'dance around her like angels' because 'metal doesn't have dancing and I wanted to add that to the new future of metal.'
@cuttysark8017
@cuttysark8017 Жыл бұрын
Welcome to the Foxhole! Turn back now or you will be sucked into the Babymetal Galaxy, which is actually a good thing because it's lots of fun and filled with some truly impressive music and performances. A producer at the Amuse Talent agency called Kei Kobayashi came up with the idea. He formed the group in 2010 around the lead vocals of Suzuka Nakamoto and the cute backup singing and dancing of Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi when they were all in Amuse's school themed j-pop group, Sakura Gakuin. One conceit of Sakura Gakuin was that the girls had school clubs and they would performs songs with themes based on those clubs...Babymetal was the heavy metal club. Babymetal became so popular that they were spun off in 2013 and the Legend 1997 concert is both a celebration of Su's 16th birthday (she was born in 1997) and also celebrates Babymetal's transformation from a group that started performing to backing tracks and developed into a headlining metal band backed by the Kami Band...the guys in the white robes and corpse make up. Headbanger itself is about a bittersweet coming of age for a 15 year old girl who goes to a concert and loses herself in the experience of the mosh pit. She realizes that such carefree moments won't happen when she has the responsibilities of an adult and so she vows to remember the night. "Headbanger" is pretty manic, but it is followed by a lovely Su solo called "Unfinished Akatsuki" all about keeping love alive and then the theatrical auto da fe of "Babymetal DEATH"...and the concert started with a mimed dubstep version of "Headbanger Night of 15 Mix", so there's lots to unpack with Babymetal. You should check any of those songs out as well as "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan" and also the "Babymetal Guide" by CrypticMisery as that will answer your many questions.

Is this band fun or what? I have been a Metal fan for almost 35 years now, and there were some pretty big names among my favourites over the years, but BABYMETAL puts them all in their place. They are simply the most complete package of entertainment ever. There is so much going on at their live shows, and every single aspect is on an incredibly high level, whether it's the vocals, the instrumentalists, the compositions, the dancing, the crowd interaction... Their catalogue is also very diverse, combining various sub-genres of Metal with al sorts of other genres. You'll find influences from Waltz, Ska, Hip Hop, Reggae, EDM, Dubstep, Indian and Latin music and more in their music. Please check out more from them, you won't regret it. One of the best live performances I have ever seen from any band is "Road of Resistance" live in Japan, but unfortunately reaction videos to this get blocked a lot. If you decide to show it, you should take some precautions like frequent pausing and possibly a semi-transparent video overlay.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 Besides the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they've also toured with Lady Gaga and Korn in the USA. It's kind of hard to imagine the genius of BABYMETAL producer Koba. He became aware of Suzuka Nakamoto (known as Su-metal, or just Su) in the Amuse Inc. Kid's division, when she was 10 or 11. At that time, she was the youngest member of Karen Girl's, a JPop trio. He decided she should be the lead in a metal group, so he built one around her. : ) Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register. That always sounds great. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits, and a BABYMETAL classic. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when this was first recorded. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was performing on stage, rather than taking the train to see concerts. Not sure what to suggest next. I think 'BxMxC' will blow your mind. And Su's solo songs like 'Rondo of Nightmare', 'Akatsuki', 'Amore' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow' are great.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. It looks like you have the story of their origins as a sub-unit of a JPop Idol group called Sakura Gakuin - that group had a school theme and was used as a training ground by the Amuse talent agency for some of their most talented girls in all things related to the entertainment industry (singing, dancing, modelling, acting, stage management, presenting, writing and so on), so the girls (aged 10 to 15) could find what they were best at and what aspects they liked best to concentrate on as they furthered their careers. BABYMETAL was the brain child of one producer, Kei Kobayashi, a lifelong metalhead who was so impressed with Su-metal's (she is the lead vocalist) vocal power and stage presence when he saw her performing with her previous group called Karen Girl's who sang for the anime Zettai Karen Children, that he had the idea of her fronting a fusion Metal-Jpop band. He created the heavy music sub-unit with Su-metal as lead vocalist, Yuimetal and Moametal as her support with choreo, backing vocals, harmonies and in charge of hyping the crowd and they performed under the name BABYMETAL. The name BABYMETAL is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons: - to symbolise that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal) - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun): BABYMETAL = ベビーメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru) heavy metal = ヘビーメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru) BABYMETAL separated from Sakura Gakuin in 2013 after Su-metal had turned 15 to become an independent band in their own right. Sadly you heard right about Yuimetal leaving the band officially in October 2018 after a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and from 2019 through 2021 they were supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) who would take turns dancing in the third spot. In all live concerts since early 2014 they have been supported by the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians. They first appeared in October 2012 and wer phased in gradually playing a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows. Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned to support BABYMETAL in the Metal Resistance - so they wore traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. More recently the robes are black and they wear masks instead of face paint. For the 2019 US tour and the 2020 UK and Europe tour the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) supported BABYMETAL. You have some good suggestions for more reactions already - I will add 'Catch Me If You Can' live at Budokan Black Night and 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK, their first major event outside of Asia where, as unknown 15 and 16 year olds singing in Japanese they were faced with 50-60,000 UK metalheads.

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal Galaxy.🦊🤘 Glad to see someone who already know these girls and introducing someone new to this beautiful madness. You're arriving to an special time since a couple of weeks ago they released a new single and their come back after a year and a half of hiatus, along with a live performance next January and album release date after that for next year, they will come back to this same venue you're just watching, Makuhari Messe is the name of this japanese convenient center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. Everyone in BM fandom is having a great time with this, so stay tuned for more. I'll let a recommendation to help you with future copyright blocked issues at the end of my comment or next comment. Nice to see you already know something about the girls and hitting some good spot about them, but just in case i let you a basic info first: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are: - SuMetal lead vocalist. - MoaMetal scream and dance. - YuiMetal scream and dance, former member since 2018, she's the one with the chubby face, the one with the dimples is MoaMetal. None of them are related. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, Apocalypse, Doomsday, etc is just a cool title sometimes referring to certain special events related to the show. The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, so you weren't the first one noticing about it on this live, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P. - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling to upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch "Megitsune" official MV, of course live performance is even better but the MV shows all the Japanese elements this song got and our girls looking so young here gives you a good dose of kawaiiness. We know Amuse is very hard to deal with copyright blocked issues, fortunately we got a way to go around with *(I'll put the title in the next comment) YT place, you'll get full original clips of their best live performance with watermarked logo safe to react, look for "Future Plans" vid, follow instructions and you'll get all of them, upload the one with the logo for us and you can watch without it, don't worry for us we already saw all of them. You'll find some watermarked clips in the channel also with the description and where to get the non-logo version. If you want you can watch the original clean version and pause whenever you like to say your comment and after that you can put a logo provided in the same place so you can enjoy a clean version from the beginning. You can also put some heavy opacity and translucent effect to avoid those issues if necessary. However there are some safe clips to react like those from Legend 1997 or some of Budokan 2014 or previous to this year and Festivals that is out of reach from Amuse hands. By all means AVOID live compilations at least for first time watching, not saying all of them are bad but chances are you'll end up facing the bad ones bad edited, very confusing, switching costumes and distracting you from the performance and meaning of the song. Also avoid Glastonbury Festival performance, the sound is bad and the crowd isn't the usual fans. Here's some examples of safe to react live performances: - "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" live at Legend 1997 (2013, you can find this a "Gans Tomas" or "abr metal") or Legend I (2012). - "Rondo Of Nightmare" with Mischiefs Of Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, this one normally is safe to react without any filters. ("Kawaii Metal" got this) - "Catch Me If You Can", you got live at Budokan 2014 with subtitles version at GuilhermeCait or live at MetroRock 2015 in BMRR under the title "CMIYC". - "Ijime Dame Zettai" live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 (lately hasn't been so safe, so careful) - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016 ("kitsune6001" got this one) - Distortion, live at Download Festival 2018 or Rock Am Ring 2018, official got the Download version and is safe to react. If you follow this step by step you won't have blocked issues the majority of times, but sometimes there has been issues with certain songs so if you got those try to put opacity, blur or translucent effect, that might help a little bit. Thanks for sharing your BabyMetal reactions and reading this humble recommendation. Keep coming back with more BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole. See you next time!🦊🤘

Another important leg on this group is the choreographer Mikiko-Metal (or Mikiko Mizuno, not related to YuiMetal) - The Kami Band are representing spiritual entities, kami means roughly "god", so they're the band of the Fox God and according to the lore they were sent to help the girls with the metal sound, they're wearing white burial robes and corpse face paint to represent those entities. BOH the bassist is playing a monster 6-string bass. - They were backing band of several rock and metal legends like RHCP, Korn, Guns And Roses, Metallica, and even Lady Gaga got them in their 2014 live tour. They got the love and respect from many more artists and trust me many of them though the same way like you did "how can you go on stage after that?" lol - SuMetal in the center is the main vocalist and of course she's still in the group and along with MoaMetal are the only official members and front women, MoaMetal and YuiMetal aren't peripheral, they're hardcore very important members, but now we got only one of them, you'll see backup dancers during live performance after she left but none of them sing or have mic, they just dance. Please next time try to fix your audio settings on the songs you're hearing, thanks.🦊🤘

So here's how we got here. The idea came as a side project on a show starring high school girls. When they first started off, the girls didn't really 'get' the metal thing. They went along with it, and early concerts were lip-synced and didn't have live musicians. Then one fateful day they were playing a side stage at a festival where Metallica were headlining, and when Kirt Hammett saw they were selling t-shirts that referenced a classic Metallica shirt design, he went and checked them out. He loved their schtick and invited BABYMETAL to come back and meet the rest of Metallica. So Su and the girls met what seemed to be some very nice middle aged men backstage, and were invited to watch the show. When Metallica took the stage, and transformed from nice old men into an intense, agressive metal band, the whole 'metal' thing click for Su. She realized that the intensity was an act that allowed the audience to experience a catharsis and she decided that that's what she wanted to be able to do too. That was the day that they went from being a pop band who played metal, to being a metal band that played pop. Definitely do more! They have a new album coming out in the spring and the hype train is just gearing up. This video was from 2013, so you've got 9 years of catching up to do before then.

Once upon a time, there was around Tokyo a teenager guy who around the 80s that became a fan of the japanese and international Heavy Metal bands of its time. As he grew up, he started to work at a pastries stand in japanese rock festivals, and slowly entered the music industry, becoming a producer in a label that used to work with japanese idols, you know, this little kids that dress funny and sing kawaii (Amuse). This guy, Key Kobayashi (nowadays known as Kobametal) had this crazy idea of bringing his passion, Heavy Metal, to this world, somehow he thought that would work and be amazing. Of course, his label cringed at the idea every time he brought the conversation. Around 2008 Amuse produced a song for an anime that was a success among children in Japan because it was made popular in an anime series. The song was called Over the Future and was sung by a group of three little girls: in front Ayami, supported by Yuika and a nine years old girl that went by the name of Suzuka, Suzuka Nakamoto, nowadays SU-METAL. Koba saw Suzuka straight and piercing voice and wanted this girl in his coming project, and somehow managed to convince the label to allow him to work with her. They didn't allow him to create his thing, but both Suzuka and Koba became part of Amuse's next project, Sakura Gakuin, a 2010 reality show that simulated a High School with teenagers in training for the music industry. Inside the program, beyond the main thing formed by the twelve girls that made the full roster, each one of them formed little adjacent clubs. Newspaper club, baton club, pastries club...heavy music club. After so much time they had allowed Koba to have his little thing inside the program together with SU, and to accompany her they chose the two tiniest girls in the program, Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) and Moa Kikuchi (Moametal). Inside the club they formed an imaginary band...BABYMETAL. The first year it became the favorite act inside Sakura Gakuin, in 2012 BABYMETAL started to perform their own concerts, in 2013 they were selling out arenas in Japan, in 2014 they had their first shows in the UK and the USA and in 2016 they were playing in front of 110.000 persons in the Tokyo Dome and had become the biggest japanese rock act out of Japan ever. Sooo this is how something like this happens xD The girls started at eleven and twelve in 2010, but they are no kids anymore. Suzuka is going to hit 25 soon and after three years of nearly any activity due to covid, they have just started their road to their fourth album.

You know, I don't think he himself worked at a pastries stand. And calling SG a reality show is... euh a bit of a stretch, seems to be somethings lost in translation/between cultures.
@rickwagner-

"As he grew up, he started to work at a pastries stand in japanese rock festivals" Koba was already working at Amuse, Inc. when he was put in charge of the management of a patissier, Ms. Aya Kakisawa. Based on that experience, he decided to form a group named Mini-Pati with the concept of an apprentice patissier (pastry chef). This was all part of a joint project with Amuse, Inc., and the Japanese government for promoting healthy eating. Mini-Pati had the chance to perform at the final Karen Girl's concert in late March of 2009. That's where Koba saw Suzuka Nakamoto perform for the first time. Mini-Pati became one of the first sub-units in Sakura Gakuin when that group started in 2010.

If this gives you nightmares, you should not watch the final song of that concert: Babymetal Death, live legend 1997. No, don't watch that now. Get more familiar with Babymetal and listen to several other songs first. They were not born in 1997? The main vocalist (Suzuka Nakamoto alias SU-METAL alias Su) was. That's her birthday concert from 2013. Recorded one day after her 16th.

Great reaction! Babymetal started in 2010 as a sub unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin. Su-metal (lead singer) was 12, Yuimetal and Moametal were 11. They split from SG in 2013 when Su “graduated” from it. In 2018 Yuimetal officially resigned from Babymetal after a year of absence for undisclosed health reasons. Babymetal continued with just Su and Moa and just recently released a new song from their upcoming new album. The band behind Babymetal is called the Kami band and consists of a few of the best Japanese musicians. Babymetal added a western Kami band later on for their shows overseas since all Kamis also have their own projects and aren’t always available. The Legend 1997 show was in December 2013 to celebrate Su-metals 16th birthday (16 and 20th birthdays are pretty significant in Japan). If you would like to continue your Babymetal journey, check out “Megitsune” or “Karate” next. Oh and little advice, pick live versions if you can, they are usually more impressive, despite Babymetals music videos being pristine and well produced.

The whole idea for this was a long time metal head Koba Kobyashi (Koba Metal ) he seen Suzuka Nakamoto perform and it give him the idea for BabyMetal with her powerful clean vocals and stage presence and along with Yui Mizuno and Moa Kituchi BabyMetal ( meaning a new born genre of Metal ) . Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance ? (and still 2 more) In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 09:23. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). This crowd's shout in Japanese occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal turns her mic towards audiences. Of course it did in 2019 US tour (20 gigs) and 2020 Europe tour (17 gigs). Last year 2021, eight years after this video, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿

Thanks for this reaction. First time reactions are always something else. Pretty certain for being a metal drummer a requirement is to being extremely proficient in being a drummer. So yes, all of them are amazing. The 7-string bass is used for only one song, a lot of the time it's the first song of the concert, but this show the song was the last song. The trick with Babymetal is: Su-metal's vocals is that they are high so they are not as easily washed out by all the loud music. When their is a crappy 'fancam' on some smart phone, a lot of the time her voice comes out more clear than the music.

Nice reaction. Welcome to the foxhole. Some info. Babymetal are the three ladies. Yui did leave due to health issues officially in 2018. Their stage band is the kamiband. Aka the godband or spiritband. Representing the god of their instruments. They released two albums with thier now classic line up. The 3rd album is Su-metal lead singer and Moametal backup vocals and just about everything else they need her to do. Except the growls which many have been done by their producer Koba. The group was his idea. He had an idea to mix Jpop vocals and a metal music. It turned into so much more. Su is great vocalist that Koba built the group around. With that said Koba got them together at a very young age. They first appeared as the heavy music club. Part of Sakura Gakuin a jpop group based around school life. Eventually Babymetal grew into its own thing. Breaking off from SG they released their first album, and the rest is all part of their now legendary history. However, Babymetal is far from done. They just released the first song from a new album due out in March. And are due to release another song this month. A lucky time to find them. I suggest listening to their early stuff before jumping to the new release. That way you can grow with the band literally since they started so young. Su was 12 and Yui and Moa were 10 at the time. Now Su is due to turn 25 on Dec 20th. and Moa is 23. This song is about going to your first metal concert at age 15. Not about them but they can relate to it. Enjoy your journey through the Babymetal galaxy of music.

"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" is among Babymetal's best songs and your reaction is typical among first-time viewers: "WTF did I just watch?!" (A reaction common to Babymetal songs - the song "Iine!" will peg your WTF-meter!). Now you could do one of two things: you can jump around like a flea on a hot brick and wander the foxhole reacting to this and that - which isn't a bad way of experiencing Babymetal - or you could go back to the egg: check out their very first MV "Doki Doki Morning" ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mc-im7RpzrLIkqs.html ) then match it with the live version ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jamEfbd60sWteI0.html ) and do that with each of their songs (many do not have MV's but there's a live version for virtually all of their songs (I recommend finding "HEAD12456" ( kzfaq.infoplaylists ) on KZfaq for many of the live versions - the quality is quite superior; I suggest the "Legend 1997" of 2013 playlist. In fact, I suggest that you watch the entire "Legend 1997" concert!)). To be honest, I can't wait to see your reactions to "Babymetal Death" the "Legend 1997" version ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jatddql50b-1dWQ.html ) - it's to die for!!! 🤣 In short, travel the path that they and many of their fans took to get to where we are today. You'll find good songs and ones that aren't so good, you'll find triumph (Sonisphere 2014) and tragedy (the departure of Yuimetal in 2018 and the unfortunate death of Mikio Fujioka, guitarist of the Babymetal backing "Kami Band"), you'll find Black Babymetal, and you'll find that although Babymetal started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal"), they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box. I would also suggest that you avoid compilation and fancam videos like the plague: compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. Watching a Babymetal compilation video is like eating prime rib after somebody else chewed it. You didn't react to Babymetal, you reacted to a highlight reel of Babymetal. And fancams generally have terrible quality and sound thus being basically a waste of time. In any event, keep reacting to Babymetal!!! It will be worth every minute, trust me! They have only a bit over fifty songs and you're sure to find them all most entertaining. (Just my opinion, but perhaps you should lose the "nay-sayer" 😉 ) Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!) KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

Indeed, the whole concept was built around the lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto. The music producer Kei Kobayashi found her as a 12 year old idol in training and thought her voice was so powerful that she could still be heard even above a metal band, and so the idea was born! That's what Babymetal means, by the way. A newly born form of metal. Please continue! There are many amazing live performances to cover, some with band solos, like Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of Gods intro.

Good reaction and welcome to the Babymetal galaxy. Babymetal's style is known as "Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal" and they are its creators. It is based on the fusion of any genre of metal with pop, thus always giving very energetic songs, generally heavy and full of joy. It is very difficult not to finish watching or listening to a Babymetal song without a smile on your face. They currently have 3 albums: 1- Babymetal, where they were between 12 and 15 years old, so you can find songs that could easily be defined as children's. 2.- Metal Resistance: between 16 and 18 years old. In this album you can find both the spirit of the early days and the progress towards maturity as a group and as individuals. 3.- Metal Galaxy: 19+ where his music, without losing its essence of energy and joy, already has, in my opinion, a marked musical maturity. They are currently presenting their fourth album, called "The Other One" where they have only presented one song called "Divine Attack", but of course if the quality is this, it promises a lot.

su-metal is the lead singer, and the entire project is built around her; she's irreplaceable. variety is the spice of babymetal. _megitsune_ is probably babymetal's signature song (and has a great official video), but they don't have a "typical" song. you should check out a few more to get some idea of the extreme variety at play here. to see how young they were when they started, check out the _doki doki morning_ official video. to learn what a fantastic vocalist su is, check out a live performance of a song like _akatsuki_ or _rondo of nightmare_ , or to appreciate su's crowd control the video "road of resistance live in japan" is always popular. but really, it's hard to go wrong. you can explore su's flow with _bxmxc_ (x's are silent) or check out any of babymetal's other songs.

LOVE this reaction! Your commentary is hillarious! And also, I discovered Babymetal a few years back and got intrigued. Attended my first concert this Tuesday. I'm sold. If these girls come kill me in a nightmare with this music, it would be the best way to go. I'm a 50+ year old male, but I'm fan-girling HARD for this band!

Babymetal, One OK Rock and Perfume came out of Amuse. Babymetal was part of a TV show and this was the group the three girls had created for the show. They are quite talented and Su is a beast..

I've first watched BabyMetal in 2010 in video for doki doki morning. Lead singer was 16 & other 2 singers were 14 at the time. Least that is what was the rumor was.

The band formed in 2010 when Su (lead singer) was just 12. Two years later (2012) they were headlining shows. Another two years (2014) and they did a world tour that included opening for Lady Gaga. in 2016 another world tour, followed by opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Korn, and Stone Sour (late 2016 to mid 2017). There's a video of the Chili Peppers playing with Babymetal during their set, and Flea is in the same ghost makeup and robe as the Kami Band.

Babymetal have a seal of approval from and frequently Collab with Judas Priest, the OGs Some brushed them off because of sexism, racism, or ageism, but Judas Priest has given them platform and basically told the bullies to get the hell outta here with that negativity. Babymetal are honestly such a creative project musically, I've been a fan for approximately 8 years now
