This is best example of cultural appreciation.... Its so fun watching Indian reactors react to this, and them having a fun time picking out all the bollywood dance steps, the indian/hindu references in the lyrics.... Neither genre nor borders stops Babymetal from making banger music... 😁😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘

Awesome! This song is wonderful. This is still the Kami Band East. Starting in 2019, both Kami Band East and West wore masks. Easy tell is always Boh, he's the only one who never (or rarely?) switched out for Kami East, and the only bassist with a 6-string. Another tell is Takayoshi Ohmura's staple hot pink glam guitar. Leda Cygnus was on the headless guitar (he was 1st solo in Rondo of Nightmare with the blue ESP). Also, Kami West members are stockier and some of them have sleeved arm tattoos. Great reaction, look forward to more! 🤘🦊

Su is a bit of a music nerd and was really hyped about playing Glastonbury. The festival had already been sold out by the time BABYMETAL were announced, so there weren't many fans who were able to be there for it.

Nice reaction! This one is kinda similar to Metalizm but different nonetheless. That was the Eastern Kami band playing, you see it from BOHs bass and Ohmuras signature guitar (the pink sparkly one^^). This festival appearance was during the Avenger era, with, I believe, Riho there. I usually avoid Glastonberry due to the poor sound quality but this recording was somewhat okish, so good on you! 🤘🦊🔥

Watched this performance live on Glastonbury live Broadcast on BBC tv got me hyped for seeing them at Brixton Academy in London 2 days later they performed it there as well 😊👍

Around this time, the East and West Kami bands started wearing the masks. I assume it's so its harder for the average fan to tell who's playing and theybcan interchange them more easily. But hard core band maid fans know Takayoshi's pink guitar and Boh's 6 string.

There are [Indian] singers who learn this Indian singing style and make their career on it. It's different from the western musical scales, not easy to master. Su-metal did it just for this song, I guess that was an average Tuesday for her. Or maybe a Friday night in the karaoke club?

Eastern Kami . Takayoshi Ohmura is always the pink sparkly guitar, BOH on his famous six string, Hideki on drums, and LEDA on his signature Stranburg guitar. The only reason I like this version is because you can hear the guitars better than you can on the studio version. But the rest of the audio is muddled. BBC's fault

"BBC's fault" gets thrown around a lot, even though there's no direct evidence. All we know is the double kick had issues in the broadcast audio and the cause is unknown. Remember Glastonbury is a pop festival (so double kick is rare) and this isn't the main stage (secondary OB crew). BABYMETAL flew in last minute, direct from playing a show in Japan, so it would have been a Japanese crew their side - easy for communication issues to arise. The only "blame" you can 100% pin on the BBC is for this footage existing at all.

Just a piece of advice: whenever you can, try to avoid video from Glastonbury! Audio was pretty bad, not all mics were turned on (BBC fault), crowd was a pop crowd, so not that much into them, and it often gets blocked! But still, performance was good enough! Avenger Riho Sayashi was the rotating dancers at this festival! :D

It doesn't seem highly likely that the BBC have their own separate set of mics, but I'm happy to read sources on that. And given Babymetal played between Slaves and BMTH, there was hardly a pop crowd at that stage. I've no problem bashing the BBC and Glastonbury for actual problems, but the script you guys are following doesn't add up.

@@iaingeo From what I gathered, tickets to Glastonbury are always sold out before artists are even announced, so since it's a pop festival with some rock guests, crowd it's usually a really pop crowd. About sound I found people saying: "I listened to several fan cams from glaston but the drums sounded fine there, it’s only the bbc vids that are out of whack." YOu can't really find official sources about that. If you find some that show the opposite, I will gladly change my mind

@@BlackArr0w Hi I was there and the sound in the crowd was good, not brilliant the second kick was a lot lower in the mix (Kick trigger), You have to remember the stage sound is NOT the same as the streamed/BBC sound the desk feeds are sent to a broadcast truck and are mixed on the fly to be streamed (Normally 10-20 second delay). The vocals were a lot louder on stage but all through the performace the streamed vocals were a lot lower. The made the same mistake for Guns n Roses last year where the stage sound and the streamed sound were a lot different. It is all to do with the broadcast mixer on the day Aso Glastonbury is NOT a pop festival at all it has over 100 stages of a plethora of diverse music from Folk to Death Metal I think from memory Napalm Death played that year now that was loud !!!!!!

Great reaction, great song - unfortunately not the best version ... this was from the BBC's live stream and they did BABYMETAL no favours with either the camerawork or especially the audio with microphones not all plugged in and others working intermittently. It is worth avoiding Glastonbury videos for BABYMETAL reactions. Glastonbury is the biggest pop music festival in the world, it has been going since the early 70s ... as such all the tickets sell out long before any bands or artists are announced. Typically the crowd is there for main stream pop and maybe some soft indie rock (Coldplay has headlined there more than anybody else, Kylie Minogue was headlining this stage later that day). Metal is a rarity at Glastonbury, so this was a crowd who had no idea who or what BABYMETAL were and probably never listen to any sort of metal. They put on a great show and went down well with the crowd, but by BABYMETAL crowd standards this one was as good as dead. This was June/July 2019 right at the start of the 2019 tour. The Avengers had just been revealed (two of them anyway) at the first shows in Yokohama on the Friday and Saturday. After the Saturday concert BABYMETAL were straight onto a plane flying overnight half way round the world to London where they landed Sunday morning - they then drove half way across England to Glastonbury (in SW England) and were on stage at 12.30 pm Sunday afternoon. This was Avenger Riho's second concert with BABYMETAL. They were in Brixton, London two days later for their own headline show (they had their own crowd there, we gave them a proper reception🤘). They were back in Japan not long after for the Legend M (Moa's 20th birthday) celebrations. This was the Kami Band East - Takayoshi Ohmura, Leda Cygnus, BOH and Hideki Aoyama - in their brand new masks. Shanti is a Sanskrit (a written Indian language) word also used in other Indian languages, meaning peace. Repeated 3 times it means peace in body, mind and spirit (or in thought word and deed perhaps). 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' is very Indian or Bollywood in nearly every aspect right from the sitar in the intro to the Indian percussion with that drum you noticed (and I have forgotten what that is called again), to the choreo (Moa said the hand movements were particularly difficult to get right) and of course Su-metal's amazing vocals showing her versatility with another completely different vocal style.

And you might see that their choreographie was changed. They got new teachers for this song so that they don't make to big blu nders and according to some indian opinion they had no such problems, while Bollywood in General can be quite Problematik.

Don't know where you are pulling your info from but it's wrong. No they did not have "new teachers" for this song and it was choreographed by the same woman (Mikiko Mizuno) as their other songs have been.
