The reason why the song sound kind of Japanese is actually very interesting. Atlus(the main company that publishes these games) and Shoji Meguro(main composer behind Persona/Megaten) have a philosophy that background music shouldn’t distract you from gameplay. So, they decided to write these songs in english. But, they didn't want non-Japanese audiences to be left out so, they directed the vocals in a way that they sound sort of japanese while still being english.

I'm sad Heartbeat Heartbreak wasn't included but everything was still fire, loved it!

For Persona 3 songs, I'd recommend: Burn My Dread(Original Opening) Mass Destruction(Og + Fes Version) When The Moon's Reaching Out Stars Changing Seasons Full Moon Full Life(New Remake Opening) And if you want to do songs from the other versions of Persona 3: Heartful Cry Soul Phase(Portable Opening) Wiping All Out(Female Protagonist's Exclusive Battle Theme)

They didn't have to go so hard with Heaven. The context it plays in the game makes it even better, easily a top tier song.

I feel like Persona 4 OST is the kind of game where the OST slaps way harder when you play it than just listening to it.

If you're going through all the best game soundtracks, highly suggest "The World Ends With You" and it's sequel "NEO: The World Ends With You". They're about as built around their soundtracks as a game can get without being a rhythm game.

i absolutely love how heaven fits in with the gameplay, since the situation it plays in is both somber and frantic. god i love this game

Some backstory on the Persona series! There are 5 Main Persona stories, but only the first is just its own self contained story. The 2nd Persona was 2 split games. P3 had an epilogue for its initial remake(FES), P3 Portable added a femMC option, and P3 Reload comes out 2/2/24 P4 had a PSP remake called Golden that added an entirely new plotline, and 2 Fighting games (P4 Arena & P4A Ultimax) P5 had The Royale as its remake adding new plot AND and epilogue, along with the Beat-em-up Strikers and the recent Turn Based Strategy game Tacticia. P3 and P4 had a crossover in Persona Q, and P5 joined them in PQ2. 3-5 also have the "Dancing" rhythm games to them. It used to be a sub-series under the Shin Megami Tensei series under ATLUS, but the success of Persona 3 had them drop it from subsequent titles. They still share the Persona/Devil designs with the rest of the SMT series however.

I was just thinking about "Heaven" right after reach out and was like "I hope they play Heaven next" The first time I heard this, I deadass dropped the controller after going back to the entrance of the dungeon because I was not expecting a banger during that part of the game

Heaven is one of the best persona series songs that exists. It's a random one to include, but I really appreciate it. It's such a sad song and such a sad moment in the game.

I love the analysis you all put in. If I can make one recommendation for another video game to try: Hades. Its soundtrack is something else and almost all one person other than the female vocals And for Persona 4 if you do another Persona 4 video Time to Make History is a must

Umineko is a visual novel series about murders, mystery and magic. It has some inspiration on "And there were none", book from Agatha Christie. Actually, there's an Umineko anime, which songs are awesome too, but the visual novels are most famous.
