True and a lot of those great musicians can't write a song beyond 3 or 4 chords! Here there and everywhere had a pile of jazz chords, Yesterday has a pile too, as they used to say, Beatle chords!
@taccamine8312
@taccamine8312 Жыл бұрын
The funny thing is that the majority of Beatles songs were the opposite of 3-4 chord songs. They were quite advanced in chord and melodic structures (but they were completely absorbable for the masses). That's not something you'd say about most of these opponents' songs. But the Beatles were not technically advanced musicians. Like the session and jazz musicians Quincey would hang around. Nevertheless, Jaco Pastorius said that he was very influenced by Paul McCartney as a bass player

I watch reaction videos of kids who weren't an idea in their father's balls when the Beatles came along, and as hip hop kids they find themselves transfixed by what they're hearing for the first time. They're expanding their musical vistas and knowledge just as Millennials and Zs are. Much like the rest of euro artists of the time the stuff that made them popular was stolen from blues and soul musicians not borrowed as the narrator may tell you….once there was nothing left to “borrow” where was the good stuff they actually wrote…… so they stole from other musicians…. this supposed revolution era Beatles came from the hippie movement that they originally were against… and lastly they were *NSYNC of the 60s they were a manufactured boy band that was tweaked in the studio by a producer which made them sound “good” they wore matching suits and instead of danced they played instruments… only one I give credit to is George because his Beatle songs were actually well written and do you want to know a secret is sadly underrated

When Jimmy Page was looking to resurrect the moribund "Yardbirds" he was going to call the band "The NOEW Yardbirds"; but Keith Moon told him that name would go over like a lead balloon, so he thought up "Led Zeppelin" (look up the "Hindenburg" balloon disaster). Well sir you a far more brave person than I to state what believe on a comment section dominated by people who love the Beatles. I think I am one of the very few who, although there can be no doubt they had talent, It is far not as incredible as some people view it. Since I was teen when they hit the world, many people forget they, in my opinion hit the sweet spot. At the same time they appeared, there was the Vietnam war, anti social protests. The women's movement, the Black pride movement, the non-conformist movement and so their appearance of rebellion struck a chord with the pent-up desires of Americas youth. They challenge the norms of the day and swept up thousands of young folks. One cannot possibly think their first 7 songs were groundbreaking. They stayed on the charts because they were the rage that capture the mindset of thousands of young people and became embedded in the fans base mind set. Had they come about in the 50s or late 70s,80s,90s, I think their initial music would not have resonated as much with American youth. They built such a fan base that as the years went by people believe that most of the music as a group or solo they were creating was fantastic. Full disclosure , I am a Beach Boy Fan. I feel their music captured the quintessential themes of life. The guys sang about fast cars, Friday Nite romance, girl meets guy , guy loses girl, etc. The parties at the Beach. A few more themes , . Think about it ,I want hold your hand, She loves you, Can't but me love, 8 days a week. Michelle, what themes are they referring. Next you Hey Jude, 8 min. of repeating the same 2 lines over and over again,....Let it be was a protest song that struck a nerve with those who were affected by the War and of course the idea of peace in the world. The Beatles themselves said they were influenced by the music of the Fifties. After 1970 just what Music did they influence. It was the disco era about to explode. they hit the sweet spot and in person I can deliver and overwhelming rebuttal to Beatle ardent fans........Thanks for listening and ....Good luck You

Some of my favorite musicians and some of the most unique musicians and most uniquely gifted musicians in all of popular music weren’t fans of The Beatles. This includes Zappa, Bowie and Prince for example, though they were all huge fans of The Rolling Stones, lol. Even though I love The Beatles, the fact the some of these artists weren’t fans isn’t a statement on the quality of the Beatles work, but a testament to the unique way that these other artists heard music, and I’m really grateful for that. I recently bought 2 different two-disc sets of Beatles live at BBC. All early material played "live" in studio with no audience at BBC. Theres a lot of songs that were covers and never made it to a Beatles album. Lots of Chuck Berry, amongst others. Anyhow, with no audience...no screaming,... one can really hear how tight those 4 were. Harmonies galore, great guitar playing, about 80 songs in all, also with a bunch BBC 15 second mini-interviews . I think they were at their tightest then, and it is tighter than anything most other "great bands" ever played live that I've heard. Its tight early rock. Who cares if other musicians cant dig it? I've been a huge fan for 55 years, early Beatles and later Beatles, and I am more impressed than ever after listening to these early BBC recordings.

I think that the source of the vitriol could be traced back to the over the top coverage and reviews from various music critics and the Beatle fandom that remains unmatched. It leaves certain musicians confused and probably frustrated because they only see the veneer. They see what they want to see. A guy like Ginger Baker was forever perplexed by the mystery of McCartney's many gifts- and this despite not being classically trained. Where Baker festered in frustration, Dylan could only find fascination, like the rest of us. It also, I believe, has to do with these artists trying to pigeonhole a band that knew no bounds of genre. Maybe they changed things up too much for them. They didn't rock out enough. I don't know. These are opinions we're talking about here. A comment like "The Beatles are for second graders" has an ironic elegance to it, especially since it was not intended to imply that it was stated by a first grader. And what is probably the funniest aspect to all of this is that some of these guys were influenced by bands that were influenced by guess who? And they have no idea about that.

It's true that The Beatles would've been a very different Band without GEORGE MARTIN. The Producer of any Band's recordings is responsible for the final sound of the product. The Producer can decide which instruments play which parts and structure the verses and chorus. The Producer can decide who sings which harmonies. The Producer decides a lot more than the listener is aware. In 1962, at one of their first recording sessions with George Martin, he asked the Beatles " Is there anything you don't like?" Quick as a flash, George Harrison said "Well, for one thing, I don't like your tie!!" George Martin later said in an interview that "From that moment, I knew we'd get on very well"

The fact that nearly every musician listed was introduced by the songs we might know them by (because they might otherwise be unrecognizable), versus the Beatles obviously needing no example hits or anything...well that says it all. Obviously you don't have to love the Beatles. It is a lesson that you can probably get more attention punching up than criticizing a 3rd rate one hit wonder. All the bands that were big in early '00 used to hate on Brittney and the Boy Bands...why? Because those '00's bands sucked. They couldn't hold a candle to the 90's bands and they knew it, so they hate to hate on losers. At least the people in this video know to hate on the best band ever...It's more interesting!

Art isn't a competition to see who comes out on top. It's not a fast sprint to the finish line against rivalled runners. Some people worship Bob Dylan; others think he sounds like a fog horn winding down. Taste is personal and there is no accounting for it. I like what I like and you do you. That's the way it works.
