Same here. I was born in '68, so i was pretty young then, but i clearly remember most of the things we did then. I even have a memory when i was only about 8 years old that took place at a bar/supper club. Some lady played the song "MAMA MIA" by ABBA constantly throughout the evening. I'm guessing i heard it 12 to 17 times that evening. I also had the hots for a waitress there who was 3 times my age.

I agree this song makes me emotional as well. But I wonder why. I guess it does have a basic sadness in the key/chords. Lost love? I don't really think about the lyrics at all when I hear it. It's a very hopeful and uplifting song, not sad at all... but maybe just the intensity of the emotion catapults us back to our youth when it was being played... amazing how that works.

Even just sitting around, watching TV, eating a snack. Anything. I cannot imagine ANYTHING worth more than that. PLEASE go see your siblings as soon as you can. I would give everything up, just to have some more time with my little brother. Losing a sibling is the family loss that is most often overlooked. BIG HORN MGTOW very true. I actually knew him from 1982-1984. He was kind to me but as someone who watched his actions on the sideline in the studio, I must admit that I often wondered how other musicians put up with him

What a song! Chordally, it is so sophisticated, and the vocals sit on the top like a velvet glove. I had heard of the Babys, I knew John Waite from his solo efforts in the 1980s, but I had never heard a song from his first band. What a revelation!

I took this song for granted as I was born in 1956, and i had heard so many hits to me it was just another good tune. Now I miss all the songs from the 60's 70's and 80's. Dam copying machines have ruined the music business.
