The album presents the great maestro of the bamboo flute, Hariprasad Chaurasia. The first volume begins with raga Brindabani Sarang, an afternoon melody from the land of Lord Krishna. The artiste has rendered this expansive raga beautifully giving it a detailed treatment in an inspired alap-jod sequence followed by two sprightly gat - one in madhyalaya jhaptala and the other in drut teentala. This is followed by a thumri in raga Manjh Khammaj. Here the artiste has given the raga an embellished and lyrical treatment as is wont in thumri. The album concludes with raga Jhinjhoti, where the flutist has played a moving alap and madhyalaya gat set to the rarely used matta tala of nine beats. The second album begins with raga Desi Todi. The artiste has played this complex raga skillfully, which creates the karuna ras of tender compassion. It is followed by an alap and gat in raga Madhuvanti. The album concludes with the night raga Malkauns. The rendition is a masterly exposition revealing the various nuances of the raga.

thanks. beauty of Indian Classical Music is Ragas are divided as per Time zone of a day like Morning Ragas, Afternoon Ragas, Evening and Late Evening Ragas, each has mood and rhythm as per time zone energy of a day.

Pandit Hariprasad captures the essence of nature with the flute. I instantly get transported to babbling brooks, open pastures, birds landing on tree branches, deer eating grass, mountains, sunrise, sunset, the stars, the wind, the sky. Next thing I know I am walking in the forest! Peace, peace and love! Oh...I wish to stay here forever!

Good morning.Thanks to legend and companion.we can take a quantum leap in to meditation if we listen to this music as worship Now this is the thinkable subject to all of us what will be the stage of those people who introduced such ragas & system....... Thanks god ,allah , parmatma that agressor, intruders of world could not destroy this heaven like system.... Chaurasiya means where the juice spread all around.
