This is the Sara Bareilles song. She grew up where I live. In fact I bought her first self-produced cd from her mom who owned the curio shop in the front half of a pharmacy. I was there with a friend and saw the cd display I said is she any good kind of teasing her. She said, "I think so". So I bought one went my car put in and played it. I only listened to the first half a song, or however long a small town block is, I parked went back in the store and said to her mom, " If she doesn't make it big there is something horribly wrong with the music business!" The next few years have proven me right as she has become one of Broadway's brightest new stars. She is the creator of the hit show, 'Waitress'. She was also featured in a play for television with John Legend in 'Jesus Christ Super Star'. Anyway, I've said intuitive things like that before and been right so I seem to know what talent is, I just have none of my own, other than knowing it when I see or hear it. Well the lead singer is good, I'm not sure he is Mitch Grassi good, but he is good. I've always liked this song, it makes you feel good. So we agree to disagree about the song. A bass voice isn't that melodic an instrument to begin with. He would have needed to go up in his register to sound more lively. It didn't feel dynamic enough to pull me in. I thought it was O.K. it was thin, not enough depth. I would have given it a five side of six.

If you like acappella you should see Angelina Jordan's version of Billie Holiday's 'I'm A Fool To Want You'. She did this at 7 years old. She did it with no starting note other than what was in her head. It was flawless. I hope you watch it just to be amazed. Did I mention she was 7!!?
