I have been following them for a few months now and I was enjoying their numbers which had the band playing as a whole, I love the fusion of traditional and modern but when I first the two elements separated I was really blown away. It gave me a greater appreciation of how talented each member is on their respective instruments. There's also a few they do with Yuko, the vocalist, demonstrating her other talents of kenbu dancing (fans and swords) which are very entertaining.

One of the best things about Wagakki Band is that they can take any combination of musicians and produce something captivating and worthwhile. Wasabi, the modern drummer with the blonde hair, definitely has his own style. He has a tight, efficient style, yet he manages to get plenty of personality and performance into what he's doing. As far as where to go next, I'm going to recommend "Hoshizukiyo," a fun song with all eight musicians performing from start to finish. I'd also like to recommend a song of theirs called "Synchronicity." It's their outlier song, the one that doesn't sound like any of their others. It's a fun, energetic song that shows off the band's chemistry, plus Wasabi's drum part is fantastic. @@PaleHorseShabuShabu They have a lot of diversity in their music. Many of their songs don't sound the same. Synchronicity certainly does stand out, however, as does the acoustic version of Kyoshu no Sora. It comes from having a lot of highly skilled musicians (all of whom write songs) who put the music and the band first.

I was at a concert where bunch of those big traditional drums were played. I assure you, the whole venue was shaking. Awesome experience! Wagakki band make those instrumentals only for live shows. Here are two, that mix traditional instruments with the modern ones. -Tomodachi ninaruyo kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ad2pd6met5myj2Q.html -Tono monogatari yon yon with kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oMCAY6Sa1szOoqs.html They have very poppy and cheerful music, but also very dark sound at times. The bassist is actually "he". Though he wares like a woman, he is straight, just for his stage performance.

@@RyoMassaki Quite normal to think he is a woman because of the way he dresses. In his own band Asa band, he dresses like a woman. In private life he dresses quite normally.
