I feel like the original sounds like a petty response from a young person who doesn't understand what they're feeling or what's happened. This version is like someone who knows exactly how she feels and is angry and sad and is in mourning over her loss. It's so POWERFUL and mature.

Hearing this in Tove’s voice was the first time I was able to really hear and be struck by the lyrics. Especially “I lost my mind// I spent the night crying on the floor of my bathroom.// you’re so unaffected, I really don’t get it”. She really embodies this song. Takes on a much deeper hue. Thank you Tove ♥️

She gave new life to a lyrics that is indeed very painful and deserved something more than teen pop. We’ve all been through that: rejection from a person we love and cherish with all ourselves while seeing them moving on easily. This song is a masterpiece

This proves once again how incredibly well crafted Olivia’s songs are, you can transform them in all directions because of their strong core. I don’t think most people realize she’s much more than a nice voice and pretty face. There’s not even one miss on her album, that’s so impressing.

Olivia sings it like, :Boy, bye, I can't be botherd, which I really admire the "punk" attitude she brings to it. Tove Lo is not just singing the song. She is feeling every word of what is passing over her lips and she is making sure you understand her point of view. Excellent song and tbh, I'm really feeling this version a little more. I find myself singing right along and feeling every word myself. We're so lucky to discover both versions!

It’s insane how much she made this her own song. It’s like a completely different song. I love the original but this version really feels impactful and mature, again, that’s not a knock on the original, but there’s just something about Tove Lo that she can really make something raw and heartfelt.

I hate how many people are saying it's so much better then the original. I wish people could appreciate things without comparison. One couldn't exist without the other. It's artist expression and appreciation. I doubt Tove would want this type of reaction, rather just appreciate it for how good it is as a stand alone peice of art rather then downgrading the original artist, who was basically a child when she wrote it by the way. Both are masterpieces in their own right without the need for comparison. Two beautiful versions of a very good song
