I heard that this song was originally called 'Lord'" and was supposed to be a gospel song, but the label didn't want it. I don't know but listening to the song now I can believe it.

"Love" is the second single from Musiq's debut album Aijuswanaseing (2000); it spent 38 weeks on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and peaked at #2. On the Hot 100, "Love" peaked at #24 and spent 22 weeks there. It's still heavy in my rotation, he has a great discography and happy to hear you wanna check out more of his songs. once i found out this song is really about God & his label made him change the words to LOVE ....it made so much sense to me. (Lord ....those who have faith in you sometimes go a stray) I NEVER sing the words "Love" i always say "Lord" instead!!

Yes! Can’t say enough about this type of music. Love him. His music, also Eric Benet, KEM and Jill Scott among others is what I listen to while I’m cooking, cleaning, or just chillin. I wish these great artists were played on the radio more!!! That’s why I like to tune in the I Heart Radio. The iconic Keith Sweat has a show there “The Sweat Hotel” where he plays all the jams. R&B has been put on the back burner long enough.

Fun fact! This actually was a gospel song that he wrote at first and then they made him change it ! But biblically speaking “love” actually means the laws of The Most High. So technically it’s still a spiritual hymns ✨🤗

Much respect to your parents and grandmother for exposing you to so much good music 👏🏽. I raised my son the same way, he’s a millennial but knows and loves this type of music because he grew up on it. This is one of his favorite songs 🙌🏽. I’m really enjoying your channel! 💯🔥🔥🔥
