Nice catch on lighter tackle, however, I did notice a couple things that need attention. It's better for the fish if you leave it in the net in the water for a few minutes (whenever possible) to regain its strength while you remove the hooks, before you take it out of the water to measure and get pictures etc. Just like you it gets tired from the fight and needs time to recoup in the water. You were out of breath; I imagine the fish was as well. Also, it is best for the fish, to wet down the bump board prior to laying the fish on it, as the dry bump board will remove the slimy layer on the fish which is there for its protection in the water. From one fisherman to another, I'm not picking on you, just offering some sound advice for next time. Tight Lines!!

Well spoken, now add delayed mortality into the mix. People think these fish are so robust and resilient but they’re actually quite fragile.

Wtf buy a new reel ...... ever tie tin cans together with string as a kid and pretend they were walkie talkies.....yea same thing with an extremely loud reel....it should be almost silent......you spooked that musky and got a very lucky reactive bite......go invest in a Diawa Regal 3500 at Fleet Farm or Cabellas only 50 to 60 bucks. Best reel for the $$$......
