I've lived in CO since 1978. That segment you've shown appears well designed for safety. Dozens of other roads in CO that are much more dangerous. Haven't driven it in a long time but I suspect that Independence Pass between Leadville and Aspen approaches the most dangerous especially given the drivers. Another one is US 285 from west Denver to Fairplay. A favorite bumper stick said "Pray for me, I drive 285". May need to give us your definition of what makes a road dangerous.

ummm go drive phantom canyon road from cripple creek/victor to the HWY that leads the royal gorge bridge. that road is insane!
