Some of the nightwear and lingerie is from TSR. I know because I have some of those items featured in the videos.

I also use fresh cut day, mostly for the new sunset/sunrise hours cause having zombies 6pm is weird. 9pm makes more sense. The better lighting is just a nice a bonus

I use Nraas story progression on my run-of-the-mill laptops (not a gaming laptop), and it takes awhile to start up a the beginning, and I experience some lag about 3am each sim day as overwatch or whatever removes excess vehicles and turns off unused stereo and tvs, but I'm not sure I could go back to the old EA story progression. Nraas SP keeps me on my toes and throws a lot story complications my way that I try to work with. It keeps things from getting boring. I did learn to put it on the "snail" speed or things happen way too fast. I recently discovered your videos and are really enjoying them.

i’ve definitely had TONS of lag with story progression. I think it’s just because with the base settings EVERY sims story is progressing. Maybe changing the settings to friends/family would help but I just took it out.

At least for me I with Nraas story progression I notice a big lag spike the first 30 seconds of my game when that notification about it being enabled pops up but after that I am fine

@@NotMalcolmYou can definitely set it up so you get less notifications of things going on in town. I limit mine to family and romantic interests only and my game runs smooth. I love all the different interactions that happen and the drama the rest of the world gets up to. I do have a gaming laptop though!

Nraas story progression made my old laptop lag a lot but when I got my gaming laptop it was absolute fine and didn't lag! People should know that nraas SP is quite a big and taxing on your game so that's why it lags!

I followed your advice and uninstalled Nraas SP. My game has run waaay better ever since. I resisted for so long and changed all of the settings. alas, it was futile. Also, clunky ugly EA UI supremacy 😤

that's so interesting! i wonder what it is with the nraas story progression 🤔 i wish i could get it to work but ig because i usually play with just one active household i don't get that bothered with the EA story progression maybe? the only thing about monte vista that bothers me is when all the OG townie families just die off and are replaced with non-italian sounding sims lol

You should get simler90’s gameplay system. I use it and it fixes almost all issues with ea story progression. So far it hasn’t impacted my performance, but rather cleaned it up cause it also has general bug fixes outside the story progression as well. Some people say they experience lag, but I tweaked settings to disable things managed by other mods (particularly overwatch since I prefer overwatch’s system since it is much more extensive in what it does). I also dont use a lot of mods so I limit the possibilities for conflicts.

Be forewarned, however, that it is not really compatible with nraas mods that are not Overwatch (e.g. SP, Traveller, Dreamer, ErrorTrap), so proceed with caution

For me, NRaas story progression makes the game’s story telling so much better, I get many interesting notifications telling me what happened in the neighborhood It doesn’t break anything

I used to have Story Progression installed, but it made my game lag and I would get a lot of errors, so I decided to get rid of it. Also, ngl I was just too lazy to figure out how to make it work, so I'm just using vanilla story progression now.

Ugh yes I have also deduced that story progression is causing my lag but I can’t stand a dead ass town I’ve helped it a little by reducing the like “personalities” stories which just create pop ups Every time I do like a clean out and restart w my mods bc I always get excited and add way too many things seeing the clean game without story progression it runs so smooth

I counter your clean ui with the grayscale that rekowcski recommended lol I tried the clean before but the gray just hits different. I also see no point in the story progression mod when there's story progression in the game already. I have it in sims 2 though lol

I could never get the clean ui mod to work, and I don't know why. I couldn't figure it out. I really wanted it because I have around 3000 hours into TS3 and I'm tired of the outdated ui style. On a separate note, would you consider changing the RAM allotment for TS3 a mod? Its not one you can download, but it is technically a modification, you just gotta do it yourself, and imo its the single best performance enhancing change one can make to the sims.

hey that's a good question! i don't know for sure but i believe it should work with any graphic settings; i believe the mod just tweaks the preexisting lighting instead of adding brand new ones. i could be wrong on this but hopefully it works well on all graphics settings! 😊

yes that’s definitely one annoying thing about it 😕 Most of the OG townie families end up dying off and getting replaced with new ones. At the same time I usually just play with one active household and focus on them, so it’s not super inconvenient ig? what story profession do you use? have you tried awesome mod or simler90?

@@NotMalcolm i use awesomemod, rn. Considering simler but seems to have so many mixed reviews that it makes me kinda scared. I find awesomemod good but it does have annoying blobs in world view when the story driver is pushing sims to do things.

I feel dumb asking this but for the smooth mod, you said to add in your bin folder, where is that located?

sorry for the late reply!! here’s the link for the updated smooth patch: modthesims.info/d/658759/smooth-patch-2-1.html So most files goes in the bin folder which is usually under program files -> origin -> sims 3 (or something like that) and then the package folder goes in the normal mod folder. here’s where the creator says to put them: “Download the "ld_TS3PatchEA.zip" file and extract its contents into your Sims 3/Game/Bin folder, then move the "Packages" folder into your "Documents/The Sims 3/Mods" folder. Make sure you take out the "ld_SmoothPatch_MasterController.package" file if you don't use NRaas MasterController.” I hope this helps some way! 🥺

On my old laptop SP used to lag as well, so I was just turning it on for 2-3 sim days and then turn off for the next 5-7 days. Just to get the experience but not overwork my laptop. I really recommend that technique if you can't live without SP like me XP

I downloaded the Clean UI mod and it immediately made my browser freeze, black screened, then proceeded to throw up a Ambient Lighting error. I am currently running virus scanner and going to run a Memory Diagnostics test. Just an FYI
