Couple of picks for me, on the DC side, Batman No Man's Land, and Identity Crisis For Marvel I have to give it to Civil War and World War Hulk.

It's so good to see someone else mention No Man's Land. I feel like it's not appreciated much and it is one of my favorite storylines.

Bro, if you get a chance check out the Frank Miller Daredevils from issue 185-190. I still love that run. Daredevils senses go a little wacky and he calls his old mentor Stick to help him. You also meet Stone, Claw and Shaft who help Stick and Daredevil combat ‘the Hand’. Sort of a humbling time for Daredevil as Stick and the boys view him like a noob. Really compelling comic read.

Gotta include the X-Men Dark Phoenix saga. A bit lengthy, but damn good. I know John Byrne didn't like the way it ended, but it was still a good read. Honorable mention, and a short read, X-Men Days of Future Past. Only 2 issues, so I'm not sure if it counts as a story arc. If you haven't guessed, I like my Uncanny X-Men.

RECOMMENDED: FANTASTIC FOUR # 38-40. FF lose their powers and then have to take their HQ back from Dr. Doom with help from Daredevil!! GOOD ONE!!

For a non-DC/Marvel read, Terminator: The Burning Earth is a good one. The arc's only five issues and is one of Alex Ross's earlier works.

There are so many great stories I’m going for two people should check out. 1. Y the last Man - this whole series is brilliant I reread it last year and it still holds up 2. The further adventures of cyclops and phoenix- This is more obscure but it contains the origin story of Mr Sinster and some of his motivations which still transcend to today’s books. Very gothic in style to reflect the time period.

Age of Apocalypse, Fatal Attractions, and The World of New Krypton ( really Robinsons whole arc). Sandman v1 too.

Weapon X story runs from 72-84, I believe. I think you were thinking of the 9.8 you were missing. Kraven's Last Hunt : Web of Spidey - 31,32 ASM - 293,294 Spectacular - 131,132 My all-time favorite spider-man story!!! A story worth mentioning to me. Would be the Mutant Massacre. Think it starts up in Uncanny 169. Amazing story arc. Even the tie ins are worth it I think.

Sorry no I guess it starts in 210. However 169 which introduces the Morlocks up to Inferno story arc is a great era of uncanny to enjoy.

I thought you would have Batman's Hush arc for sure. Also, I have to add Infinity Gauntlet... nostalgia time!!!

I enjoyed Miracleman vs Kid Miracleman (Starting in warrior comics and finishing in eclipse), A Lonely Place of Dying, and Earth X.

Lol, while watching, I was saying to myself, "as a Spidey fan, Regie, you better have 'Kraven's Last Hunt on this list!''' May I also throw in for consideration: Batman: Hush Thor: GoT Gorr Analog(Image series from Jim Duggan about a future where information is currency/control and underground curriers risk life and limb to get stuff delivered). There is also a subplot about a renegade A.I. that wants off the planet. Great, great read and right on the nose with A.I. and digital currency threats on the horizon 😮

😂🤣 Kraven is fantastic. So are Hush-I spoke about Hush in a video last week so I avoided it for this video. I need to check out Analog. I have not read that one.

It might be too long (and it's not really a singular story, it's a story that unfolds in the background of other stories before it all comes to a head) but Grant Morrison's Animal Man from issue 5 to 26 are must reads. The first four issues were meant to be a mini-series where DC had a general plot in mind to tie in to one of their events, but the series was a success and they let Morrison do what he wanted to do from issue 5 onward and he went wild with it ha! When one of my high school English teachers told me that I was too old to be reading comics, I lent him these issues and he was blown away. He had no idea that stories like this were being told in comics.

@@RegieCollects It's an incredible story that builds from issue 5 onward before boiling over in issues 25-26. I'm pretty sure the individual issues are still cheap, but if not it's been reprinted as a graphic novel (I think 2 parts, maybe 3?) and there's also a more pricy but amazing Ominbus. If you don't know anything about it, go in blind and just start reading...let the story reveal itself to you rather than knowing what to expect and start looking for the clues and bread crumbs that get dropped along the way. Just pay special attention to issue 5 and think about the themes that are being explored in that issue...that becomes the template for the next 20 issues. I can't say anything more without spoiling it ;)

Go back and check out "The Great Darkness Saga" with the Legion of Superheroes . It's from 1982 and features the return of Darkseid. No one knew who he was because he disappeared 1000 years ago. He really did some damage.

I hated reading the Crisis books too. However, I was hoping this would be the end of the Multiverse stuff. Guess that didn't happen, but it gave me hope at the time.

I agree with Weapon X, Kraven's Last Hunt and Darkseid War, they're all must reads. I never read Crisis, I think Three Jokers was terrible and I agree with Secret Wars only because it hasn't aged well but when it came out was great. I think Secret Wars may have been the first mega-event in mini/maxi series form.

I would say Batman: No Man's Land is underrated. And if you want to read a long one, Blackest Night which I still have not finished and I started months ago. Thanks for suggesting the Darkseid War. I have not read it but will add it to my list.

I second Kraven's Last Hunt and want to add Kingdom Come. I believe you weren't a huge fan at one point but I think you revisited it and changed your opinion.

Love this video. This is why I personally collect. I only JUST read the Weapon X story for the first time in the last few months. It is incredibly well done, even if it doesn't appeal to my tastes. JL Darkseid War is fun, as is the 3 Jokers--Geoff Johns near or at his best (and while I don't find his stuff necessarily groundbreaking, I do find it entertaining and VERY re-readable). I bought Kraven's Last Hunt when it came out and LOVED it. Having re-read it in the last couple of years it doesn't hold up as well for me (minus the art). It's still has a ton going for it, but feels like it's trying just a bit too hard to be "dark" and "Miller-like" after DKR. Crisis? That's complicated. It's quite possibly the most ambitious storyline in comics history, and I appreciate that. The story itself is...decent but not incredible? Definitely has some weaknesses. BUT...the book has some of the best artwork ever put to a comic page (IMO) and has some of the best character moments I've read in superhero comics--those go a long way. Secret Wars is...kinda silly, but SUPER fun and loaded with everyone's favorite Marvel characters (well, minus a few. Sorry, Daredevil). Zeck's artwork is really strong. That's something I've noticed about this list: each of these storylines has INCREDIBLE art within their pages, PLUS some ambitious ideas, and solid to great writing, depending.

I started trying to read some GL myself a few years ago to ease into DC. I have found that GL isn’t an easy read. There probably is an awesome story arc out there however but I haven’t found it-yet.

Hush Kingdom come Dark knight returns A friend of mine had crisis in Infinite earth's tpb but could not get through it. I read and really enjoyed it. Like you said in comics there's something for everyone Good vid though.

Hey Regie, love these short vids where you get to share some of your favorite parts of our hobby. I am definitely gearing up to read the Justice League story arc of the Darkseid War, but, my question is, is that should I also include the Justice League: Darkseid War: Flash, Batman, Superman, Special Issues, etc in the reading order? Or do you feel that maybe those off-issues don't lend enough to the story to worry about? Just looking to hear what your opinion is, since sometimes my buying budget doesn't allow for extra fluff! 😊 thanks for everything you do for our community.

Hot take infinite crisis was the better book of the crisis series Johns pretty much kills everything for the most part blackest night,is good one but it can kind of put you in a rabbit hole after you read it it was nice to see superheroes and villains become zombie like.

Come on Regie my man, Batman Hush (Batman #608 through #619)! You talk about it all the time, how could you leave my favourite of all time off the list? I feel so betrayed 😂 I agree completely on Crisis, hard read for me, but the OG Secret Wars isn’t as bad. Just dated which makes it less interesting than most of the newer arcs you can get your hands on nowadays.

Let's play the game and go.... 1. 1/1 - Weapon X BWS is a master 2. 1/2 - Darkseid War guess this is on the list now 3. 2/3 - Kraven's Last hunt Art and story are amazing. 4. 2/4 - Three Jokers guess that is two on the list. 5. 3/5 - Crisis is an interesting read. I read it as a kid and reread it last year. Some of my love for the story is nostalgia, the amazing Perez art, and it was my introduction to many of the DC characters. 6. 4/6 - Secret Wars Again my love is tainted by nostalgia when I read the stories as a kid. I will reread it and see how it holds up now that I am older.

I know it’s controversial but my pick would be the entire Krakoan Era of X-Men. They had the best writers maybe of all time for those 4-5 years. The Hellfire Gala is basically a perennial event now and it’s hard to argue the sales as those books sold millions of copies.
