I've been on a huge thriller reading binge! Both YA and Adult, older titles and books coming out later in 2019. I'm running through 15+ books with non-spoilery reviews!
Two of the reviews discuss minor spoilers in one case (content warning) and semi-major spoilers for another (discussion of "true premise"). It's noted on screen anytime something spoilery is discussed.

The basic premise of "You Owe Me A Murder" kind of reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train".

I felt similarly about Girl on the Train as you did with A Danger to Herself and to Others. I was so convinced that I knew the ending, and when it was different, I was really disappointed bc I really like my ending more.

Ohhh You Own me a Murder is a YA adaptation of Strangers on a Train, will need to give that a read.

Lovely video! This has inspired me to check out a few of the novels you recommended, you did a fantastic job at persuading me to consider buying some of these books. Also, for the past few days I've been reading The Elizas, and I'm only one third of the way through the book, but I totally agree, it is weird and _very_ confusing, but for some reason that kind of interests me. I'm excited to see where the book goes.

I’m stressed just Hearing the descriptions of these books, which makes me realize i don’t have the stomach for true thrillers 😆 I’ve always loved detective fiction -but there must be a bigger divide between those genres than i realized. I think I’ll check out the cape cod one though. Sounds kind of Gossip Girlesque

omg if you liked Cate Holahan and meta writers writing about writers writing (lol) you should check out Holahan's Lies She Told. It's about a mystery thriller writer whose next novels starts to mirror her real-life situation in which her husband's best friend has gone missing.

If you haven't reda it, I recommend The Thousanth Floor by Kathrine McGee. It opens with an unknown girl falling to her death and then it's more of that YA socialites in the future with some sci-fi-esque elements with the tech. Lots of interpersonal drama and that trope of adopted sibilings pining for one another that you like (you might already have read it because of that but yeah it's got some thriller-esque feelings about it)

this is an unrelated issue, but- I named my MC Meta a while back, then I started hearing everyone USE the word meta over and over again. Is this stupid of me?because the Love interest is named Proto and this is beginning to feel a bit obvious… (Meta means something different in the time period it’s set in)

I thought the Escape Room had a good concept but midway although I still wanted to know what happened but I was not having as much fun. My favorite character was Lucy.

@@AlexaDonne I'll have to check. By the way how do you read so many books? What is the secret? I'm lucky to finish like 2 a month unless I binge on audio books.

@@KatharineFrancis I read all my thrillers on Kindle, which also syncs to my phone (so I can read on the train to work), and specifically: thrillers are just REALLY easy to binge read. I'm never this fast with other genres. Also I was in a massive reading slump in 2018. I think I read 15 books, total, last year.

The words problematic and controversal are interesting in book tube as everyone seem to use them (a little bit too much even it would not be needed) but nobody actually tells what makes the book problematic/controvelsal . (As everybody are their own person there words can be related in so many topics in literature)

It's in my Goodreads review, as I said--anyone can go read it. And I explained, I am giving the publisher the chance to fix it. If they don't, I will fully explain everything that was wrong, with examples.
