Sadly no one can impersonate or imitate Mariah’s voice. Her voice has too many elements at once to imitate. Her voice is light, yet deep and husky. It’s funny how Mariah’s voice is so easy on the ears yet so difficult to duplicate

I think what contemporary RnB was, especially 90’s RnB had nothing to do with baring one’s soul. Most genres have that but RnB had the best production the most addictive songs and it was a way to stay connected with something cool and edgy but still very musical unlike hip hop which totally puts me to sleep and is all about attitude and slang. It kinda replaced Rock n Roll which also morphed into a resurgence of country music and edm. Jazz and real Rock n Roll morphed into RnB. I mean Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, Blackstreet, Mariah, Janet, Whitney, Nivea, SWV, Brandy, Toni, where did that sound go??? Nothing to do with baring nobody’s soul. It was just the best black sound infused with pop. Miley C scored the biggest hit of the year with flowers but no one gets a clue.

@@curlslegitbaby2981 well it includes it like any other genre of music does (traditional RnB gospel and soul are something else) but the pop RnB genre which is what most people refer to as RnB today isn’t particularly soul baring. No Diggity, The Boy Is Mine, You’re Making Me High, It’s Not Right But It’s Ok, Right Here or You Rock My World are RnB classics but I wouldn’t say they’re particularly soul baring.

70s soul and 80s R&B was R&B at it's finest. Y'all hype up the 90s and I'm not sure why. R&B in the early 90s (90-94) was perfect but after that, it declined.
