Goal! Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC) glides past several defenders and unleashes a vicious left-footed shot from the left side of the box into the top right corner of the net to push Toronto FC up 2-0 on the New York Red Bulls and help clinch TFC's first-ever playoff berth. The goal, Giovinco's 22nd of the season, also draws him level with Columbus Crew SC's Kei Kamara atop the Audi Golden Boot standings with two games left to play.

This is one of the best MLS goals ever just because of everything it means. It shows Giovinco's skill and determination for the team and it's also the perfect goal that sends TFC to the playoffs for the first time As a longtime TFC fan. the last 8 years of pain were so worth it for that moment. There may have been better goals than this one this year, but I can assure you nothing will beat this one for fans here in Toronto.

This is one of the best nights of my life. Watching Joe Bautista score a game-winning home run to send the Blue Jays to the ALCS and watching Giovinco score this amazing goal to send TFC to the playoffs within the span of an hour was mesmerizing.

First touch --> Agility to take the half turn --> Strength to fend off the first defender --> Balance to continue the run --> Pace and dribbling to get away from the defenders --> Trickery and Footballing IQ to fake out and skin the last two defender --> Composure to set himself up for goal ---> God given gift to strike with his left foot despite being naturally right footed ---> Finesse and Finishing to hit the inside of the post in the side netting. I am a Sporting KC supporter and STM, and I will watch this goal over and over again because it makes me remember how beautiful the game is! From the skills to get past defenders for an open rocket of a shot to hearing the eruption of the crowd! Giovinco is an amazing player and I can not wait to see him this year!

+GonzalHD it's not a tribute to Blue Jays. Blue Jays didn't even fucking come up with it. It's a Hip Hop dance created by Lil B meaning cooking the crack but it was toned down by media when James Harden started using it then it expanded to other sports as "stir the pot"

Arrived at 3PM in Toronto, 3 hours before the game and goes straight to the BMO Field, having played for Italy the night before. Insisted the Coach to play him and scores a match winner. Reminds me of the Giggs goal versus Arsenal back in the day. Giovinco. The Atomic Ant. Seba. Whatever you want to call him. One Man Show. A Legend.

Comunque sia Giovinco è sottovalutato, anche Conte in nazionale lo ha fatto giocare solo pochi minuti ma quando è entrato con la Norvegia è stato decisivo con il cross del pareggio e il lancio del secondo gol,in un momento in cui il calcio italiano esprime così pochi talenti offensivi Giovinco dovrebbe essere, se non titolare fisso, almeno tra i 3 o 4 per i 2 posti davanti....

Però guarda bene i difensori, soprattutto l'ultimo..si fanno saltare troppo facilmente...io in Italia non ne vedo quasi mai di dribbling così facilmente riusciti. Poi è ovvio che anche da noi qualche probabilità c'è (Tevez vs Parma, per citare il primo recente venutomi in mente)

I know they often fill out the bottom but everytime I watch highlights or games....the top doesnt even fill... even 401 derby should at least sell out but top only fills halfway....which to be fair does give like 25k anyways...BMO is a very nice stadium, shame that the Argos are gonna shit all over it :'(

How this amazing goal did not win the MLS goal of the season award that year is beyond me...evidently the fans who voted against it either had no clue, or they showed bias against a player who was from a Canadian rather than an American team. This goal was far superior in terms of the close control and technique he displayed to take it past several players, as well as the shot from outside the area with his weaker foot. Plus not to mention that it was against a good team and it was THE winning goal that qualified TFC to the playoffs for the first time in their history, which he scored after coming off the bench, having just arrived from international duty the day before. One of the best goals in MLS history as well. Giovinco was fantastic, such a talented, creative, dynamic, and skilful player; shame he couldn't establish himself in Europe, but he won it all in the MLS and certainly left his mark on the league.

Technically Clint Mathis' goal for New York back in 2007 or something was better, as he did this from inside his own half, beating about six Dallas players and on a terrible pitch in Giants Stadium. But yeah, this was a great goal, by a great player.

The finish is clearly world class but if I was the NY coach I wouldn't be impressed by the defending. Messi would do that every game if he played in the MLS. MLS attracts top talent in the goalscoring department as goals sell tickets but the defensive side has a long way to go.

The Oso run was severely underrated. That run forced the two defenders to track him, freeing room for Giovinco to roam. It's almost Raumdeuter-like.

+MxFANTAZY00 he has been given many chances at Juventus and always failed. Dont' forget MLS is a much lower level, in Serie A he wouldnt' get past three defenders like that, not even against relegation zone teams.
