Forward drive point. Conventional engine position but look at the drive wash from the 'front' of the ship as it's 'reversing'. Probably hydraulic drive to forward prop. Maybe because there's no winding area local, so it just transports loads up and down the canal without having to turn through 180 degrees?

fred Ted fir a ship like this on average a 50m2 living with 3 bedrooms.

Skipper and family aft, crew in the forward accommodation. The power unit for the bow thruster is also housed there, though Lara has directional drive.

I would think the ship turned round upriver where there was more room. From the video it looks like the canal was too narrow to turn around after loading her cargo.

They turned where they had more room, my old boat was very maneuverable going astern as she had twin engines, I just gave one engine more or less power to steer, much like a tracked vehicle which I've driven a lot.
