After a few hours the goshawk still does not give up. That is very unusual. The explanation is, it is a juvenile
I have never seen such a long threat. It lasted from 5:39 to 10:25 AM. And it cost the life of a Storklet.

Odd behavior - pecking at the nest material after each encounter is just TOO WEIRD!

I've seen in other nests the Goshawk does not stop until all are dead( unless the parents or the little ones defeatcit)

I am watching this video on June 25, so it means that two storklets are survived!

Are they looking for scraps when they’re picking at the ground like that? That’s a behavior they have when they’re much smaller too, and I’m new to nest watching, and storks are the only birds of prey I’ve seen do this (thus far). Is that what they’re doing? Or is it something else?

they are already practicing foraging for food like adults do

Oh My Goodness, this is so sad. Where is mom and dad?? Will someone go to check on the one that fell? Praying with my heart that they will be ok.

oh no :( when you say a stork lost its life, do you mean the one that fell? was it confirmed he did not survive the fall? those poor babies. it just seems like the hawk is wearing them down. after attacking for so many hours, eventually they will be too tired to fight back. i guess that’s his plan.

I'm sure it is dead. We have not heard the little one twittering on the ground. Not yesterday- not today.
