When I was driving, I kept note books with information on each load I hauled. Shipper,reliever, contact person, phone #s addresses, directions, all of that information helped tremendously over a 20 year span. When I got out I gave those notebooks to the company I was leased to. All of that information was worth it's weight in gold if done and used correctly

I've always wanted to install yellow flashers with the strobe effect like in the top corners of the rear doors so in situations like in a bad pileup or dead stopped traffic you can activate them to not get plowed into from behind. Or even blizzard or heavy fog conditions it would be way more effective than your hazard brake lights

Seems like the spring trailers ride fine if they are loaded down. Whenever we load the spring trailers light, our gear at the very back of the trailer gets beat up pretty bad. The air ride trailers seem to treat the lighter loads better, and still do well with the ride for heavier gear. But it is our gear in our own trailers, and we have to pack it to survive, so we care about what the ride is like and ho long it takes to pack. If we were hauling for others, not really my problem; it is on them to pack it to survive and I don't care how much time that takes them... But for my stuff, air ride all the way: we will never buy another spring trailer.

Corner caps looked good. Great Danes have been reliable trailers for many years. Old company. Kick plates look solid. It's got vertical e track for strapping. Hubs are sealed. Check underneath by the tires for bent cross members from blowouts. Good luck.

That’s a good trailer I bought a 48’ refer with a lift gate in really good condition for $1500 I used it to move from California to Idaho then took the axles off and put it on the ground for a storage shed and sold the axles for 500 so I got a moving van and a storage shed for $1000 😊

Patch work, pull out manual realese, about the third time you have to walk back to the cab for a jiggle wiggle in the rain , you being a car guy, there's something on everyone's car, when the first time you walk up on it that catches your eye, didn't even see your shinny chrome stacks, all my eye caught was a big ole patch on the side of the trailer, and rusted lug nuts. There's more out there. Sometimes blending in and not bringing more attention be a good thing.

Those are old Brown Trucking trailers. We have 5-6 of them. Pretty good luck out of them. They are Paper Spec trailers for heavy haul. That’s what we haul,rolls of paper.

The used equipment market is flooded with inventory with the demise of Yellow Freight. Ritchie Bros is selling their trucks and trailers by the thousands very cheap. Look in that for a good deal.

you want to carry even more weight in the trailer get a spread axle with a rear or front life axle bud or both even spread axles are way easier to back up and you can lift the rear axle to turn sharper if you get a spread axle with a rear lift axle with scales even going to your cab which you set by going to scales a few times. Yeah they cost more but at this point it is an invest that will make your life easier and faster

MATS used to be the largest truck show, not anymore. Mostly custom trailer queens and custom parts. Even the truck manufactures pulled out and they are the number 1 reason for a truck show. When they changed show management the show went down hill. Bring back the show from 20 years ago much much better. Lots of nice trailers at the Richie Brothers Auction going cheap in Orlando Fl.

We always buy brand new trailers and there always gotta be Split axle trailer's. After Dale Jr retired we stopped watching. We always love watching baseball. Jesse was pitching for the baseball team player's since the pitcher of the team was not available (family thing) he asked Justin who was pitching cause nobody in the team is named Jesse and Justin goes my dad. The catcher was like easy pitching cause his hand was about to hurt. Jesse can still throw balls at 107 miles an hour. The pitcher arrived and he hollers at the catcher and said does your palm of your hand hurt and he goes YES. Hell u should have went and watched the races. Jesse always did when he was there. He always reserved a ticket in advance. We have been there several times with the kid's. We have a good picture with Jr and us. He was very nice to pose with a picture. There's times we hardly use the Green Apu System this time of year. Cause it's always cool sleeping weather. Jesse says we been there picking up pallets and even Nana said the same thing when her and Jesse went there to get pallets and take them to Georgia or Alabama to a Walmart distribution center. We have seen trailer's on fire due to the brakes burning up or the load catches on fire. Days ago the dump truck that was about to empty the trash bins was smoking pretty good and they was like $#@& lucky they was able to get the fire out. Dryer just went off (Clothes finished drying) hang out shirt's up akd pants and get in bed and yes Jesse helps hang shirt's and pants up. He's going to help the mechanics with getting customer's vehicles serviced or fixed and possibly going to be putting new tires on customer's vehicles and he's going to have a good friend of my grandma's come over and he's going to be putting new tires on her car.

Still believe the second time you needed those bearings replaced it was due to the fact the mechanic did not bend the tabs over to lock the nut in place. No way that nut could back off like it did if it had been installed properly. That is why the bearings and spindle got tore up the way they did.

Your taking the spring ride trailer to STM , I would ask them to magnetic particle test the king pin and leaf springs for peace of mind… that’s just me though.

That's kind of a red flag he wouldn't let you take the trailer for a test drive, but for $6k thats a fair deal I'd say. $6k for a trailer that runs and drives and doesn't leak is do-able

I would not even purchase that trailer for anything besides storage. And would not even haul it very far. We always buy new trailer's with split axl's cause u don't have to move the tandum's back and forth. And u just tell the shipper or receiver u have split axl trailer and they are like oh ok. the loads are pretty good. Dumptrucks been taking waste material (Demolished Building) to the city dump. And the city does pay us each time a driver check's in with the city worker.

You got it wrong on the budd wheels they look just like hub pilot wheels except they have an inner nut you tighten it first to secure the inside wheel. Then the outside wheel goes on and the nuts thread onto the inner nut,the drivers side has left hand threads and the passenger side has right hand.The wheel you called budd is actually a spoke wheel or commonly known as Dayton wheels usually see them on older trucks or container trailers. The modern hub pilot wheel and hub came out in the early 90's and I think is much easier and safer than the old budd or dayton.

Do not buy a spring ride trailer the ride sucks. I was using swift spring ride trailers for 4 years. New or old they suck.
