MUST WATCH: Firearm RULES for National Parks

If you lawfully have a firearm and wish to take your gun to a National Park, well you can BUT ... this does not mean you can take it everywhere in the park and in fact, you may never be able to lawfully use it.
For example, you are not permitted to take your firearm into any National Park building including, but not limited to, visitor centers, fee collection stations, ranger stations and so on. Additionally, in most areas of all National Parks you cannot fire your weapon. In fact the use of a gun is very, very limited.

Well im sorry but if im in a national park and being attacked by a bear or wolves im using that fire arm the government can kiss my ass at that point

@Gottaculat . Nope I've talked to multiple park Rangers and local pd in the smokey mountains and they've all said if it's a life or death situation you can use it. My uncle killed a bear in the great smokey mountains national park that was trying to attract him and they didn't do anything to him.

yea if i was to get attacked or had a loved one killed with a firearm and didn’t use it for these reason i’d sue the damn country

Rather be awaiting trial than ripped to shreds and eaten alive by a bear or pack of wolves. Talk about a horrible way to go. Oh, and don't forget the poachers and drug cartels. The parks hire ex special forces guys specifically because of this, but oh, yeah, no need for a firearm. Sure. If they can provide me with an armed security escort through the park, then I'll agree to not carry. Until then, they're leaving my security in my hands, and they know it.

I read on the NPS site that parking lots were included in the do not carry zones, as well as self defense against an attacking animal.

It's a still image of someone clearly aiming a pistol. If the picture was taken at the moment they decided to shoot, how's that an issue? I think you need to chill.
