You just solved a major problem for me. My sister wants a rather large painting of poppies for her living room. I am primarily a wc artist and was going to attach my wc paper to a canvas and see how that would go. I didn't see how I could make it vibrant enough. You've inspired me to do an acrylic and the frisket paper is a wonderful idea. Thank you so much.

I waited for ages for this tutorial to show up on KZfaq... didn't appear until late Sunday afternoon in Australia. I have never used acrylic paint. I have used oil, poster paint and water colour. Do you have a tutorial for a beginner in this medium? For example, do I need to gesso the canvas first? What basic tools do I need to start and which type of paint do I purchase? Is there a difference between pouring, swiping and blowing paint? I have watched most of the tutorials on your KZfaq channel and I like your style, especially your "ladies" series... please keep on putting up videos I am eagerly awaiting the next one

Hi Jen, I really, really appreciate your support!🥰 I make one tutorial per week ( I do have a daily job😜) and it premieres at 16:45 GMT , yes, that would be Sunday for you. I will try to answer your questions- Most of the canvas I buy I already prepped so I don’t use gesso unless I want to add extra texture. You can use acrylics the same way you use oils (they are water based though) or you turn them into pouring paints by adding various extenders like pouring medium (most brands make them) , Floetrol or even water on its own. You’ve probably noticed that I use various techniques when using my pouring paints (swiping, blowing, flipping etc..). I link products used in each video’s description. If you were interested in more detail, I do have Patreon (linked in description as well) where I post extended versions of tutorials; I have Q&A videos and some more. My favourite part was when you watched your own video to see how you did it. That is so me. This would be something I would do and give to our Returned Soldier’s Leagues Club. The red poppy is the symbol we use for Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day. In honour of the thousands of our men lost on the first day in a battle in Flanders Fields in France. In the fields of red poppies that then ran with blood. We had already scouted ahead and knew it was suicide to move forward then. We were ordered to by a British Officer. It is also used for Gallipoli in Turkey where again we were ordered to take the beach and the hill behind. Most were killed before they were out of the water. We all wear a red poppy on those days each year and I also wear a purple one for the animals lost carrying ammunition and supplies. Thank you.❤
