I have this one and the plus model, and both are too inconsistent to use by themselves. I usually try 3-5 passes coming each direction and try to average them, but they often off by an inch or two, and picks up braces an inch or two behind the wall. The plus model reports almost constant electrical wiring when none is present, and may be reporting metal as electricity or who knows what, but I just can't trust it for anything. I end up relying more on trying to use magnets to find nails in the studs and/or using a hammer and cloth to find the actual studs. I tried my friends Franklin and that worked better.

Missed the fact that the device was warming him about a live wire. Dangerous!
