Love my 4.0 176,000 miles and no leaks the only problems I had was suspension and a few minor issues but that’s it. The motor sounds better now with a few mods. Flow Super 40s changed everything added another pipe so it’s duals. Great video man

I have owned 4 4.0 V6 mustangs in the span of a few years. All of them have 200K+ and still are on the road today, had one with 262K miles with the original engine and it took me everywhere with no issues. I finally upgraded to a 07 GT last year, but I'll always still prefer the 4.0 for daily driving lol

I recently bought an 06 from my neighbor that is in his late 50’s or early 60’s.man did I score big time 06 4.0 5speed 161xxx original owner clean title 500.00 dollars!! Alternator went out and he felt the need to upgrade to a new explorer and offered it to me.only down fall is I had to add a button on the inside to pop the trunk without having the key or remote with me since it didn’t come with one from ford😂

The thermostat housing is true! Mine leaked but it’s all fixed and good now. Got rid of the plastic one. Other than that the engine is a tank

my thermostat housing went out at like 102k miles, very easy to replace yourself, there is an aftermarket aluminum one too

Hey Evan still a Hugh fan thanks for everything got bad news the 05 mustang I had for a month she gone had a headon collision September 25 lady came out in front of me try to avoid it they haven't told me it's total yet the front end got crush no air bag came out I got send to the hospital I had a shoulder injury but glad to still be here I wanna another mustang I was enjoying it

There's a few bad things I'd add for the mechanical side of things. Although the 4.0s are tough engines,they can be hard to work on sometimes,due to how certain parts are placed. Like just doing an oil change,you're going to have to do some of gymnastics with your hands in order to take the filter off. Spark plugs can also be a pain,as instead of them being on the top,they're located on the sides of the engine block,making it abit difficult to properly install them. Plus,depending on your tools,it'll put a real pain in your back. Last but not least,the timing chains...
