Haile Selasie was a strong devoted christian of the Ethiopian Orthodox church, one of the original branches of the christian church and older than the Roman church. The Coptic church of Egypt is another branch of christianity older than the Roman church. The Roman Empire had the military to enforce their brand of christianity so that it became the universal brand within the holy roman empire. Reaching everywhere the empire reached. Garvey was also a strong christian. Rastas quote the bible because that is what they learned and know about religion and they have made Rasta a hybrid of christianity and Judaism.

Interesting, I've also read biographies on Haile Selassie I & some of his speeches & read about the Ethiopian Orthodox Church as the oldest original Christian religion, because like to learn about history & different countries. The prayer wheel-like "Jah Rastafari" bleating 🐑🐑🐑 & Bible quotes shrouded in clouds of smoke 🌱🌿 is also very puzzling to me, but I would never be so cheeky as to say that here. 🌻😉✌🏻😎

They considered Mother Nature, Mother Earth or perhaps a healing spring or very old tree to be "sacred". To this day, they are still defamed as Pagan by uneducated people. Actually, the term "pagan" only means that you did NOT belong to a dominant religion, such as the Catholic, and were therefore excluded. The Romans were very frustrated with the wayward Celtic tribes who resisted. We didn't feel the desire to be Catholicized! 😇😉 Before Christianity, Judaism ruled Africa. But that is only about 3000 years old. Before that, there were also different nature religions there, similar to here. In addition, the so-called personality cult was widespread (veneration of ancestors) and of course voodoo. All of them continued to exist (sometimes secretly) alongside Christianity, and are now experiencing greater popularity again... On both continents there were naturopathic people, "medicine" men or women, who were revered by their tribe members, or if they didn't like dem work: were accused of being witches/magicians & burned. 🔥 So there was a lot in common.

Rastafari was an Ethiopian not a jew/Israelite, he was a Christian too and he told you children of slaves especially in Jamaica that he is not God or christ and you must desist IMMEDIATELY to stop see him as such.
