Before converting to any religion do your research!.

Boring Story

A lot of times, the person who is converting is doing so on being asked by the partner. And this is a red flag. Religion is a personal issue. The partner should have absolutely no say in this. The fact that he/she is not okay with your religion indicates a deeper controlling nature. Today, you are being asked to change your religion. Tomorrow, you may be asked to wear a specific type of clothes and not others. Day after, you might be asked to quit your job. There is no end to the demands of a controlling person and it's better you assert yourself right in the beginning if you don't want to completely lose your individuality. Even if we assume that the partner is okay but the in-laws are the ones forcing this change, even then, the fact that your partner is not able to stand up for you and themselves indicates a very spineless and unassertive personality, one who is not able to stand up for their values. Again, not a good sign.
