Warne had 2 decent series against india - 1999-2000 in Australia and 2004 in India. Murali had good series against India in 2001 and 2008 (both in sri lanka), but he struggled horribly in India.

@@ianghose1 Murali was good against India in Sri Lanka but bad against them in India even though pitches in India have a lot more spin than Sri Lanka. Warne was terrible against India in India and terrible against them in Australia. He could not get wickets against them and his average and economy was terrible. In India Warne and Murali had almost the same stats but in overall stats against India Murali is vastly superior. Also, Murali has more than 100 wickets against India.

This was Sri Lanka of 90s and 2000s with players like Murali, Jayasuriya, Desilva, Jayawardene, Sangakara, Vaas. This was very good side specially in hone conditions. I don't remember many teams beating SL in SL except for Aus in 2004. The current SL side against which VK won two series doesn't even have 2 world class players especially after the retirement of Sangakara and Jayawardene. Absolutely cannot compare current SL team which is in the league of Ireland and WI

Yeh their performance in 1997 Test tour was Better in terms of Batting but except Kandy test India never looked good throughout the series !!!

He didn't. Look at how he pivots off his left foot and how he puts alot of body into his action. Also follows through brilliantly. The perceptive jerk comes from his wrist and shoulder which have proven to be amazingly flexible. There is alot in Murali's action that should be taught to young kids its just the wrist action that can't be imitated for the orthodox bowler.
