Mutton curry Warli Style or Warli Mutton curry is a spicy Mutton curry traditionally serves with rice, like Bengalis, Warlis staple food is rice and fish. Warli is a tribal group living in the mountains and coastal regions of Maharastra and Gujrat. Warli food is very spicy, This recipe adapted from chef Aditya Bal's recipe and if you see the video, you will see that this recipe calls for a lot of chillies. As we can't tolerate too much heat, so I reduced the amount of chilli, and I am so happy with the flavour of the curry that I had to share the recipe with you all!
Here is the ingredient list:
1 kg Mutton curry pieces
2 big or 3-4 medium onion
4 tbsp oil
Marinade the meat
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp Red chilli powder
To grind the spices,
2-3 dry red chillies
1 brown cardamom
3-4 Cardamoms
1 tbsp Cumin seed
1 tbsp coriander seed
Black pepper 1 tsp
5-6 Cloves
Prepare Hara masala,
½ cup chopped Coriander leaves(15gm)
Green chillies 4
7-8 cloves of Garlic
1 inch Ginger
1 tbsp vegetable oil ( I used Mustard oil)
