Foreign institutional investors are investing in Pakistan stock market after a long time, it was very cheap when this new govt came in and I had given the buy call in this channel, one can still invest money in karachi stock exchange and make money, you will thank me later, stock market prices rate of change, so even if the situation becomes slightly better the growth will be really good

the first step should be to pass the law that technical ministries should have facility to nominate non elected member, for finance it should be must that an economist can only be the finance minister and minimum 3 years he should stay.

Sir in my opinion this budget is not people friendly. Tax net should have been increased not tax level which has put burden on the lower class.

Whoever has invested in Real Estate in past 5 years in Pakistan have just wasted their money! Other good options if they would have consider could have been agriculture land, small business, shares, startups and above all on self-investment like getting good education, certification or landing in a foreign country.

Thanks for giving us this history. I'm not sure you can blame it on these individuals. the problem is the politicians and the military. Even a high schooler knows what needs to be done, we have huge state subsidies to unproductive industries, the tax base is too narrow, vast parts of the economy are undocumented. The problem is nobody wants to do anything unpopular, because we have a dual leadership between the military and the politicians. Each with very narrow interests just to preserve the system and milk it for whatever they can get.

This budget has done nothing in increasing the tax base. Only current base is further penalised. Also unrealistic taxation on traders , salaried class , increase in PDL while no solution for electricity problem has made things worse.

Pakistan's Govt economic role is to take out massive loans to finance their luxurious inefficiencies and do absurd contracts as much and in every way possible like IPPs and mining contracts etc. Then payback for those massive loans and absurd contracts with hefty interests by taxing the hell out of the poor and middle class Pakistanis. And then subsidize the combined mafia gang of the feudals, parliamentarians, civil/military bureaucracy and their F&F. Effectively acting as the Desi brown version and worst version of the east India company. And you absolutely don't need any economist or finance ministry for that.

With budget it doesn't seem they are again taking right steps towards widening tax bases. They are taxing those already in their net and making silly rules by blocking sim cards etc. to push non-filter stay non-filter. We need a long term roadmap bringing non tax payers to tax net and provide incentive to filters with long term benefit against those taxes. That is what motivate everyone. These repid and harsh steps to get IMF deal will burden poor more and rich and vigo walay will go rent free!
