Riiightt. I could see if it took away from those concepts at all, but it’s a lot like stay for black pink or even exid’s slower songs. If done well, it shows versatility, not concept confusion. Cube kinda took some time to find even ground for CLC conceptually, but it’s a very good sign that they could do Black Dress at all, then follow it up with a slower track and concept that doesn’t feel out of no where? I don’t know how to explain it, but it feels different than following ‘Hobgoblin’ with ’Where are you’. Where are you wasn’t a bad song at all (i genuinely liked it) but the timing kinda made it look like Cube was randomly switching their concept up again, instead of treating them like artists who naturally do different kinds of songs. The difference is subtle, but there, and I’m glad to see fans being supportive of a stronger, more consistent and more versatile CLC.

They shouldn't do ballads.

y'all should really try checking up Gugudan's B-side tracks, they have some really goods ballads too and I can say talent-wise, CLC and Gugudan are at the same level (except CLC has one real rapper - a plus for that). Try listen to Diary, Snowball, Lovesick, Maybe Tomorrow, Make A Wish... and Perhaps Love too (it's an OST but the song really suits their vocal colors).

sarah ng it's not about being cute or fierce tbh. concept brings stability and sustainability. the reason why some people flock over one CLC song over another is bcs there are certain concepts that just really really suits them and there are some that's just average and overused in kpop. even versatile gg like red velvet has a concept: the "look like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you" look and their pop RnB sound. whether they're channeling cute or fierce they're still playing in the same concept. it's not about "ppl only like girl crush clc", if anything, when i see elkie and yujin i can see that you can be fierce and cute at the same time. it's not about clc being cute/fierce. it's about having a collective idea and identity of what the group looks like and sounds like. i don't blame ppl for stanning or unstanning a group, bcs everyone got different tastes. to criticize ppl for liking/disliking something is just snobbish.
