I don't see people mention this often so I'll mention it again. The lizard/ dragon is jonghyun and the girl who jumps from the hill is Sulli. They both fly in the direction opposite to the airplane in which IU is sitting. It means theyre now going in different paths. Sulli and jonghyun are going towards heaven and IU is continuing her life. The scene where they both look at each other one last time and IU gives them a teary smile, that scenes always breaks me 💔

SUGA: "It’s easier to write a song because you can intuitively make a progression and try many different things. During my work on ‘Eight’, IU had recorded and sent me a song from her phone. At the time I couldn’t play the guitar, so we tried to make sure we’re working on the same page when keeping track of each other's progress. That made me feel the need to learn an instrument."

My theory is that IU would rather sleep and dream about her friends who left without saying Goodbye and asking them if they are happy in the place they are now. Through her dream she's telling them also to meet again at the island they made together as friends. Lastly as said in the song She'll remember those memories with them without a depressing ending.

The house represents Sulli's world, since only in her house she really felt safe and happy. Remember how Sulli would always be in her house with her friends away from the public eye and i believe this video is Sulli itself , her clothing , her wavy perm hair style , her laying on the floor where Sulli would ALWAYS take pictures with friends and post them. I'm 18 and this song makes me appreciate what I have right now. I get why she collabed with Yoongi and I'm not saying this just because I'm army. They both have a similar perspective towards life and they are similar in age too. If you listen to interlude:shadow, it also has a similar theme as this song. Knowing the symbolism in this video is about the afterlife and still being yourself and learning to love yourself even when you die is so touching! I love how in a sense it relates to the loss of her close friends Sulli, Hara and Jonghyun, although not directly the theme fits. This has brought so many emotions, I’m happy, sad and proud!
