I’ve always wondered how MAMAMOO has never been able to reach the same level of fame as BTS and BLACKPINK. I mean these girls are very talented and they definitely give off a western vibe which should be appreciated more internationally. They also make regular comebacks with quality songs and Hwasa has also collaborated with Dua Lipa so she should be more well known in western countries as well.

I think it's partially due to their controversial "look". It's doesn't fit the Korean good girl image? I feel like BP is a bit manufactured (ie the "upgraded 2ne1", not true ofc) whereas Mamamoo has that "it" factor that a lot of gg's are missing today

Idk much about BTS but Blackpink comes from one of the top entertainment companies in Korea so they are pretty well funded and their company invested a lot to promote them. That’s why it’s easier for them to be famous. As for Mamamoo, RBW is a fairly new company and Mamamoo is the first group they debuted. And honestly RBW is not the best at promoting, especially internationally. But don’t worry, Mamamoo is really popular in Korea. It’s just the international fans that are still sleeping on them :)

@@user-ef1qy9zq1g Because of the disagreement between Spotify and Kakao M which is the music distributor of Mamamoo and other Kpop groups like IU etc. Because of that, The contract between the 2 parties ended last March 2 if i'm not mistaken thats why their songs are not available in Spotify. But later on, They came into an agreement that they both agreed on and after that, tada, their songs and streams are now back on Spotify! Hope this helps 😊

every member is unapologetic to be themselves but the different energies they have create this perfect blend. it just shows that they’re extremely respectful to themselves, to each other, their work, and everyone which is and has been really a rare quality tbh. possibly why everyone shines but doesn’t outshine anyone at the end of the day. it’s so refreshing to see them, know them. imagine being next to them. would be intimidating but uplifting the same time AKDSKDKS people around them are honestly so lucky. 😔

They are *so* underrated. i can't stress this enough. all their songs have meaningful lyrics, addictive beat, you can use every second of their mv's as wallpaper, their vocals are godly, they're all gorgeous, and they all have equally awesome dancing skills. they literally have no bad music. i'm not going to say anything about other gg's because i don't want to bring them down, but they deserve waaay more subscribers and views and popularity. literally the only group that deserves 1B views.

Ever heard of nature,april,gwsn,hinapia,3ye,gugudan?? THEY are underrated. MMM deserve so much more than they have but they aren't underrated. P.s. The way you said "overhyped" ggs and big companies "whatever" groups just shows YOUR ignorance to acceptance of music. If you don't like what those groups produce,their music isn't your type that is.
