This video reminded me something. I’m Japanese. Way before Japanese things were “popular”, I was ashamed. Everyday I looked at the people in my class. I was the only visible Asian one. I’d purposely put sunscreen on my face before school to make it look “whiter” Usually racism stories includes multiple people directed at that insult. But no one was being “mean” to me. The only person that hated me was myself. I’d go home crying, wondering why I wasn’t born fully white. I hated the kimonos and sushi. But now I know that the whole time, I was still the bright, fun girl. I shouldn’t be ashamed of who I am ,and neither should u.

i am not from an Asian family, but from a Mexican family. and the first half is very relatable. I have some times been bullied because my food looks different, or that on September 15th I wear traditional clothes to celebrate Mexican independence day, so this song has stuck with me forever.

I am a Chinese girl growing up in the Netherlands and I remember being bullied because I 'have no eyes' or because my dutch wasn't that good. I stood up for myself and it worked. I also surpassed their level of vocabulary (including English but they don't teach English in elementary) so you could say they got a little bit of karma. Now I'm starting middle school and I made a promise to myself to stand up for everyone whos getting bullied. I may be just a little 12-year old kid but that doesn't mean I can't do anything. Stand up for yourself and help others. Know how to love yourself. Little by little, we will make humanity better.

I find this video beautiful but also sad at the same time because it reminds me of how I was constantly excluded and bullied just because I was a little different because of my disability, ADHD and autism. And in this video, this girl is constantly excluded and bullied because she is Asian, and that's why this video reminds me a little of my life. And I love the band One Okay Rock so this video reminds me a little of my life. For example, I come from Germany and have nothing against Asians, I even get along very well with them and I even have an Asian friend from Thailand. And I don't think it's okay for some people to simply make fun of other people or even exclude them ich finde dieses Video schön aber auch gleichzeitig traurig weil es mich daran erinnert wie ich damals nur weil ich etwas anders bin wegen meiner Behinderung ADHS und Autismus .Und ich auch ständig ausgegrenzt wurde und gemobbt.
