This game was so good that to this day (Aug 2022) I still, every now and then, dig the ole PlayStation 2 out of the basement to play it. And every time it brings back so many memories it almost makes me cry.

This was like the only MLB game I had until I bought The Show this year. I had no idea how great this game was in comparison to other baseball games but I played the shit out of it for like 5+ years. This year when I started playing the Show, literally the first baseball game I’ve played since this one, I was like where is argue the call? 😂 I thought it was something that was just part of MLB video games.

I remember my Memory Card didn’t work for a while, so every time I loaded the game, I had to recreate “Katie Roy” so I could unlock everything. Back before micro transactions and VC ruined sports games

Not sure why everyone is saying this is only the best baseball game ever, that doesn’t give it nearly enough credit. Imo this is the best game EA Sports has ever made, and is quite possibly the best sports video game of all time. It’s not like there’s a ton of fierce competition for best baseball video game, heck baseball hasn’t even been a popular sport since this game came out, it’s completely fallen off a cliff.

Still cant believe how overrated this game was. It was typical arcadey sports gameplay that EA did with all their games. NFL 2k5 runs circles around this game as the all time greatest. But I did enjoy MVP, but just cant believe how beloved it is lol

@@deedeemerry1295 For gameplay I agree NFL 2k5 with ESPN is better, but that game never had the addictive, “play all day long” character of MVP Baseball. Owner mode and the mini games were just incredible, especially if you incorporated create-a-players and legends, played at legendary stadiums, etc. Nothing in NFL 2k5 went that deep

Best baseball ever made without question. You could take any mlb legend and put them in your league dynasty. I put babe ruth on the stl Cardinals and one year with him on the team pujols hit 202 rbi with 49 hr .389 ba. It was amazing that season in the dynasty we won the penant think it was year 3-4. Having babe hitting 360 something with 45 hr and 158 rbi with puhols record year I'll never forget and gaming just isn't like that anymore
