I noticed Beastmode tries to win 50/50s by popping the ball high instead of killing it (one example is at 17:12). Losing puts your teammates in a brief 3v2 on defense but winning gives your team a possible shot or aerial opportunity.

as someone thats not watched much POV RLCS and only now climbing up to the decent ranks, this is eye opening. i think when you watch the director view it all seems way more mechanical, because the camera follows different players with different boost levels and so aerial plays come up constantly, but when you focus on a single player's process and moving around... this looks way more achievable. no disrespect intended, obviously this takes a lot of training, but it seems like a very smart, very mechanical and very coordinated champ lobby to be honest. its definitely the "same game". beastmode (and g2) are masters of the fundamentals. keeping positions but also reacting & going fast and early where they should go (especially to challenge). i think this would make g2 a nightmare for anyone to play, but also i think they adapted a little bit to falcons playstyle and pre-jumped challenges more or tried to block more than usual. this effectively neutralized a falcons team that usually is the aggressor, playing super aggressive and suffocating opponents. at the same time i dont think falcons were 100% i mean a fair amount of the goals were just bad clears straight to the opponent or hesitating and relying on the first man's challenge to be successful (whether falcons had enough boost to do better in that scenario and go for the ball is debatable).
