Reflex definitely had the best physics. The graphics weren't bad also! I'd say it's comparable to the new mx vs atv legends and might actually have better physics than legends.

Crazy this has been out over a decade and we don’t have a game as good as this. I remember me and my brother spending hours playing this game after 5-8 hours being out in the sun playing wiffle ball, riding dirtbikes & 4wheelers, just so much fun. We really loved all everything about the game. We didn’t know how innovative it was and how fantastic it was from SX, MX, ATV, UTV, Sport Buggy, Sport Truck, Sport 2 Truck. It was just awesome. The tracks were epic. I love racing but imo the four wheel racing was so fun. The sport trucks, the Buggies? And really loved the UTV’s. Because you could bang into each other. Very vivid memories.

I was playing Reflex multiplayer the moment the PS3 servers went down years ago. I'm 50 now and I regret never building a PC to play Reflex again. I would love to do it now but wouldn't know where to start. I've been racing MX since 1977 and Reflex is the best gaming experience I've ever had in online gaming. I play a lot of FPS but no other video game in history has ever raised my pulse the way MX vs ATV Reflex did. COD players don't know what a sweat is. Lol

Reflex was my first Mx vs Atv game, and I played alive, encore, all out and Legends as well. My opinion Legends has by far the best airphysics that has been made. Played Reflex couple days ago, and I really felt limited in the air. The preload is what it is, but I feel that Legends really has become the best motocross game out there, if you get to understand how it works, with the crashsystem and all.

I'm investing in a $ 700 Gaming PC just to download this game and play it over Milestone Games... REFLEX=GOAT 🐐

When Alive first came out I was so sad, Reflex had the best mechanics and physics of any motocross game by far, used to play it online with racers from around the state and some of the real life pros were incredibly good at Reflex. No motocross game has felt like Reflex sadly, Alive was terrible imo, I play All Out but only in first person mode cuz the 3rd person feels super awkward even tho I prefer playing motocross games 3rd person. Have the supercross games but they’re just clunky and don’t feel smooth. Reflex is the undisputed goat still

Full on agree with everything you've said. I recently played it, and after I finished a race, I watched the highlight reel and was looking at the whips and I'm like: when did this game come out? Because that looks so realistic, awesome physics, unlike some games, *cough* *cough* Milestone *cough* *cough* I love reflex, its the first dirtbike game I've ever played and its still great to this day! In my opinion it's the best dirtbike game there is! 11/10 would play again!

I noticed in Legends you could toggle whether you lean with the right stick or if you let the left stick so everything. I know the right stick lean is a huge preference for most people, I just personally prefer to play without it. If you could tell me whether or not Reflex has a toggle option for that then it'd really help me decide if I wanna' get this or not.

Just got a mint PS3 Asian HK version of Reflex (Not very cheap and not easy to find) because of your video! However PSN delisted all the DLCs long time ago, guess I'll have to buy Xbox digital version again as well... Steam does not have those 3 DLCs either.

All i wish is for the mods to come on steam workshop. It is a hassle downloading content especially tracks. i remember watching Tylyn, Donut, Yellow s2k, White guy etc. back in late middle school to high school. The art and the attitude is timeless with Reflex, as Milestone can't keep a simple thing with Consistent art style and atmosphere. Rainbow even stated themselves "we had $50,000,000 on the development of Reflex" i do understand the timeline as it was 1 year after the economic recession. They don't need that sum the tech has progressed enough, Black Box just focused on the game engine for a year and the others were world building, and so many other things but the main focus was on the physics. Until Reflex 2 Comes out or is announced, were stuck with Milestone and a Different Rainbow studio. RacerX even had the pros to claim the best moto game and most pros said: Reflex. Rainbow studios need to get their shit together until Milestone yet Milestone has that problem of regressing from past games and not improving one god damn thing especially the physics.

The one negative thing I will say about reflex is I always thought the bike looked too twitchy and light, like it has no inertia. You could stop on a dime and catch ruts at right angles without blowing over them, which is fun, but looks pretty damn goofy. The way the bike doesn’t really lean very far in corners also annoyed me. You should be able to take a berm or rut with the bike laid completely flat, but you can’t in reflex. It’s always mostly upright, which makes steep berms look really weird. And I did always think the overall speed and acceleration of the game was too fast, causing tracks to be pretty overscaled. Of course there’s still a lot of skill gap in the game from navigating ruts and bumps at such high speeds, but I would’ve preferred the game was slower with more inertia to the bike, so a little less control over bumps and through ruts. That would maintain about the same skill gap but make it look much more fluid and realistic. And of course, pretty much everything else was perfect. Too bad we’ll probably never see a game like that

I haven't played any motocross in a decade or so (I don't even remember which one I played) but since there's been rumbles about the new one coming out, Legends, I had to find out which game is actually the best in the series. As a long time car racing game fan, I knew it must be some GOAT old game because sadly that's just how long running game series works for some reason. Thanks for the video, game is on sale rn on Steam so I think I'm getting it.

I loved Reflex. But not from the start when it came out. Don't get me wrong. But Untamed was there and while it is not as good as Reflex, it had tons of these huge free roam Maps with AI Cars. Yes, reflex had a few too. And there was deformation and all. And maybe i was and still am not really interested in MX, and more in Enduro and Rally Raid. So there bigger maps were perfect for what i wanted. In general i felt that reflex, the new shiny game, had less content but more mechanics. Hell, it bought the two stick controls, which i really liked. If you are more into MX, then i guess it is superior overall. But i wish we had vast free roam maps and als some older Dual Sports or Rally Bikes. A shame. I think i'm starting my old box now and gibe the games a run. from untamed to alive.

Why are we still reviewing and looking back on this. Focus on helping the devs for new games and give your input and feedback to them directly. Dm use contact on website and don’t just be like. Improve sounds or air physics. Give them actual feedback like “ when scrubbing or whipping rider weight needs to be shifting to the left and back to not look so stiff and provide examples. The same reason we look back on this is the same reason call of duty keeps remaking games they’ve already done. Time to move on unless you’re on PC. You basically have all the track designers and elements you need to never get bored.
