I recently picked up a Mcboot and MX4 combo on Amazon for 29 bucks. I did the drag and drop routine with the main files from the sd that came with the product to a larger SanDisk exfat sd and loaded all my favorite RPGs with box art. No splitting games into chunks, and all 32 games run flawlessly.

Another tip is if you start BDM manually and you don't see the MX4SIO show up, reinsert and it will be detected assuming adapter is working

This is a neat mod. It’s not what I expected though. Is there a PS2 memory card with an SD adaptor for save files? I think being able to have upgradable save space, plus being able to move your saves onto a pc for backups, also you can keep a small booklet of different SD cards instead of a ton of ps2 memory cards which are much bigger. It’d be pretty cool and useful, I’m sure it exists and I just haven’t seen it. I know ps1 has something like that I believe

If there has been a way to monitor when the magic gate is creating a game save file or when the file is ~updating, then can that signal be used for a memory card page-switching circuit to automatically flip between the MX over to a second (or 3rd/4th) MC(s) for the game-save plausibly built into the same shell? .... If not in the same shell, if it produces greater flexibility without introducing risk and keeps its price lower, is it possible to create a stacked/daisy-chained memory card engagement into the same MC slot as the MX with the above page-switching circuit built-in so the consumer can use their own cards ~daisy-chained into the same memory card slot? 🤔 If there isn't first a [write] status-change bit/signal sent out through the magic gate that could trigger the memory card page-switching circuit, then would a plausible alternative be a ~bucket brigade staggering of the game save data in which an MX's page-switching circuit would utilize the bucket brigade to afford itself time to see the incoming traffic just long enough for it to ~react by switching over to the game save function then possibly look for a pause or [completed game-save] ~signal at which point the memory card page-switching circuit flips back to the MX? Forgive the over-simplification but it seems like it's a matter of taking a _rough_ understanding of the cadence in events then knowing when to manage the march of the event-specific information utilizing little more than what amounts to a ~traffic light intersection that has sensors built into the street managing the two possible paths of data, as an allegory. 🤷‍♂️

I've done a lot of mods to my PS2's over the years, my wildest dream would still be for a true optical drive emulator and a HDMI mod; much like we can already do with the PS1. Sad that the launch model PS3 are just so damn unreliable otherwise they would be my go to way to play Klonoa 2.

So I bought the Bitfunx MX4SIO, I tried different SD cards and I cannot get my games to show up. I tried on 2 different consoles, both fat and 75xx slim models of PS2.

Have you experienced any fmv skipping in any of the games you tested? I've seen videos of jittery fmv's for the kingdom hearts ( I believe) but they never said what ps2 model they're using. I was thinking maybe the pre deckard models have issues with fmv playback because in your videos the fmv's are smooth

mine turned up today will set up tomorrow,have fat with 500g hd ethernet opl installed on hd boots from hd updated all the time so will see whats this like with that setup

Saving after MX4SIO is on freezes console Memory card can't be detected when playing from MX4SIO Trying to save when MX4SIO is on not only freezes console but wipes out entire OPL configuration except internet settings Only manual configuration for MX4SIO with integrated in wLE text editor works.

So… I have a small problem. I have a SCPH-7500 with a Disc Reader that doesn’t work. I have bought a OPL MC and a MX4SIO to use it, while it worked on the first few games it stopped worked when I deleted a .ZSO file from the OPL since then it doesn’t load a single game anymore, it starts to read the file and then the access light stops. Does anyone have a ideia on how to make it work again? I already tried to reformat the SD Card (64gb and Exfat) but didn’t had any luck.

My mx4sio is working well. I jest put games over 700mb to DVD folder. However there are a couple of gsmes that dont show up in the game list, but they are present on the memory card. How do I make them visible? And what is the Bin folder for?

Hi, does OPL V1.1.0 works for you? i tried to launch games with that version but opl just stays in the "Loading config" screen, it never boots, but with the BDM3 beta it works fine Also in the compatibility spreadsheet says that Shadow of the colosuss works fine but for me it doesn't, i just get a black screen, i have tried diferent sd cards that work with other games like god of war 1-2 but i can't manage to boot SoftC any tips? hello, I'm a PlayStation 2 console lover from Indonesia, I've been following all the tutorials from psx place to make mx4sio, I made my own mx4sio at home from an unused memory card following the instructions from psx place, but what I did didn't work the games didn't show up for me I have tried with the opl version v1.1.0, I tried to download the v.1.1.0 beta version bdm3 but this version does not support bdm mode, only usb mode, or is there a special sd card that is compatible with mx4sio or is there an opl version that supports bdm3.. for fmcb version i have installed version 1,966 .. I hope you can answer my problem, thank you

Does anyone know why I need to reinsert the micro sd card everytime I want OPL to detect my games? If I restart the system, they don't show up unless I pull out, then reinsert the micro sd card. I have it set to auto and mx4iso on as well.

How come it won't detect memory card slot 1 when trying to save a game

i played black and it doesnt work anymore. it just goes to a white screen when i tried to load it. other games i saved on the sd work. did i mess up the settings? need some help.

I've got a 5xxx PS2, plugged the MC2SIO in for the first time today, nothing happened, tried 1.2.0 beta OPL, 1.1.0 and the beta of that one, also 1635 , 1627 and 1629 (those 3 made the SD2SIO card flash it's LED but no games loaded), ran all the OPL's from USB or without USB inserted from official magic gate card, but the games never show up. Tried it with a Samsung and Sandisc micro SD both 256GB and formatted to FAT32 with a cluster size of 16. Also tried creating custom partition with only 16GB FAT32, also didn't work. Anybody any ideas?

Much better off using a mini router with a USB. It offers better game compatibility and you don't have to split 4GB or larger games into multiple files.
