This is my 1988 MX73 Toyota Cressida 5MGE
I am fitting up a 1JZGTE VVTI from a JZS171 With the help of JZXWORX.
Old video, but we had to remove the engine again to refit the manifold.
I went for a JZS171 crown engine, but with a JZX100 Auto, JZX100 ECTS Throttle body and intake manifold with J pipe delete.
The cars currently off getting piping and exhaust done. Ill chuck up a progress video when i get her back. New wheel combo incoming also!

Hey mate, planning on doing a 1jz swap into a mx73 like yourself... just at the stage of planning all parts and components to be a smoothish install. From the video it seems as though you have just changed the output flange on the gearbox (1jz auto box) and have installed it back in. Did you change the driveshaft and diff, or is this a later stage? Planning on doing a manual conversion myself but am wondering the best options for a diff and driveshaft (I believe mk3/2 supras are the go too)... Cheers

Yeah so I have a jzx100 auto, and soarer front half tailshaft with cressida rear half. I had a 5mge auto extension housing but it didn't work so I'm currently trying to sort that out to fit the tail shaft. I have stock diff but a standard supra lsd should be fine which is what I intend on doing.
