Yeah but he's so concerned with making money that when he finally reaches all of his goals he won't be able to get off the wheel because it's all he knows. He never had a childhood where he could just slow down and figure out his likes and dislikes. I think the mother has a very valid concern that her kid is fixating as a way to escape something. Well, if you're unbalanced, you're on the right side of the pivot point. Human kind has prospered for a long time on the basis of preparedness. Making and saving is no different to planting a crop, smoking meat and pickling onions. Your peers simply have no idea. They do need help. But that said, you also need to have the skills and the resources to be able to live and mingle in the community that you are in. And you need to propagate your acceptance within that community. That will cost a couple of dollars, but it's money well spent. But back yourself. You're not in the wrong, you just have a different game plan. Put a bet on yourself. Always invest in yourself. Don't forget that. You've got to invest to make, and you want to make yourself. Addictions are always a problem. Focus is always an attribute. Choose focus, and be successful.

With today's youth, it is awesome to hear about this 15 yr old kid! I was helping farmers when I was 13 & 14. My neighbor's Dad was an electrician, I worked with him through a summer when I was 14 yrs old, wiring houses and chicken houses. At 15 when I could get a workers permit, I stopped playing school and league baseball so I could work. Never was about greed, it was from growing up with little and being taught by my hard-working parents, if you want something in life, go at it 100%. I joined the military at 17, got out at 21 and went back into electrical work. State licensed electrical contractor by age 24, by age 26 I had one of the largest electrical contracting companies in the area with 45 employees and blanket contracts on commercial and industrial projects. Years later started an engineering business. Started my businesses with my money, never a handout, no loans. Just drive and determination to succeed in life.

Not if you get paid to play them and you enjoy the game. Nothing beats getting paid for doing something you love to do and will do regardless of payment. I never understood why I could play golf every weekend, spend $1,000 a month doing it, and that was "manly". But if someone played a video game and spent $1,000 a month playing it, he was out of control and needs help. And many other examples are out there. A Fortenight player in Europe was estimated to make $12 MILLION per month from video streaming his game play. Another gamer was making over $1 MILLION per month streaming his game. Then you have the kid playing with toys and doing reviews. 33,000,000 followers...that little kid was making a fortune. Earning a living comes in many forms. But earning fortunes requires you to love what you do.

Yeah, I always hate to see parents hold their kids back. So many moms would love to have a kid that is like this. Most moms are lucky to get their lazy kid on the school bus in the morning and this kid is killing it. The mom needs to realize that she is very fortunate to have a go-getter child. It's rare at 15 to get kids to get a job, let alone work 50 hours a week with plans of a career and of buying a house. She should be proud, not worried.

Facts. I’m like this kid, I own my own company (remodeling, not landscaping) and I’m making between 240-320k profit every year. Idk how the mom can be upset he’s not wanting to get in debt to get a college degree that will make him much less money than owning his own business, and also will require that he waste 4 years in college when he could be investing during that time. The only explanation I can think of for the mom is either 1) benign (innocent) ignorance, or 2) intentional sabotage because she emotionally looks down on blue-collar people and hates them, and thinks that college is “superior” or “trendy”. But lady, being an adult isn’t about being trendy, it’s about having a successful amazing life without caring about what losers think!

The homeschooling made sense. Why would he want to sit around at home listening to lessons from his mom all day? Maybe if they’d sent him to normal school he’d be involved in social outlets, but denied that option he’s finding something else to do.

Making money is good and it’s good to see he has work ethic but hopefully he doesn’t let it take over his life.

Sure I could have had a 2% chance of having $20 million at the same age, but 99% of engineers are multimillionaires in retirement, so I’d rather guarantee the success of my future children and let them gamble on superstardom with plenty to fall back on should they fail.

I'm late to the game. I didn't go into business until I was 24 😅 I get it. As a kid, some trauma and no control. Dropped out of college after 1 year, and was "obsessed" with working as much as possible, saving and building a future. Everyone taught I should live a more "normal" life. Even though my first 25 years in business was a struggle, along with taking care of my wife and our five children, my parents and other older family members started to notice how much happier I was than everyone else (even though they were all doing much better financially) CONTROL - So many in our society give that up to live a normal life, only to live a life of confusion, frustration, anger, and misery!

As a person that worked from age 7, it does affect your childhood. It does take from it, but that doesn’t mean it’s terrible for everyone. I would have 100% rather worked than played sports. If my parents would have let me skip school to work, I would have. But her saying he has trauma, is a sign he needs to go to therapy to deal with emotional issues and learn to express himself. He isn’t going to be a healthy adult/good husband if he works constantly to get away from this thoughts or problems. At 15, kids aren’t thinking about the future, they are thinking about the incoming money at the moment. It seems like he’s trying to distract himself.
