The white wash looks good. Love that Bedframe and headboard.

You doubled the size of that room by painting it white and putting a larger bed in there. I would never have tried it. Anyone flying over to spend time there would be grateful to fall into that bed and sleep off the jet lag, or sleep in mornings. Just a small wall mounted platform shelf 6'x6' next to the bed for phone, nightlight is all you need. Bravo, the Before looked impossible, and depressing actually, but you have vision :)

If you put paint over the plaster in the kitchen if will eventually fail because the plaster won’t be able to breath. Use the lime wash and for color install tile.

What a transformation and we have all learned from the different processes ! I also think the skylight and ceiling fan will be fantastic .The floor boards sound great as well with extra insulation. I love that bed

I would recommend drilling large holes in the piece of MDF under the mattress for airflow. Humidity is very high in Portugal so airflow is important to keep things free of mould. We used a 25mm auger bit and it worked well.

The bead board on your ceiling is a good look and may still be available at your local lumber store.

A skylight Built into were the missing ceiling paneling is - They have those glass roof tiles- do three - then that wall would have a ton of natural light raking it and bouncing around. I thiink that hole in the wall was a listening on on the conversation hole-Or would the priest go house to house- and it would act as the confessional - although I think you had one in the laundry between the houses so the ladies could talk as they did laundry.

That was "smoker ceiling" good job cleaning it up!

Hey, JD. When I come to visit - you ARE going to ask your viewers to stay, right? - could you have a small shelf on the wall for glasses, phone, book, whatever? (Before I saw the bed, I wondered if some sort of attachable wooden tray could be made, but it would ruin the look. I know I'm being demanding, but could you also find some old drawers and put wheels on them that roll on cork flooring for under the bed? I try to pack light, but I'd just as soon not have to rifle through my backpack or luggage for my clothing items. I love the look, but I'm all for a fan and a skylight. As to cleaning the dirt off making things look better, maybe I should do that in my house? Or I could just keep calling it patina.

it would be better if you had placed the boards far apart from each other, but in any case make holes (many and large) in the board under the mattress, otherwise the sweating of the body will make the mattress moldy

Make holes in the wood under your mattress…otherwise it will get moldy.

you cant use a sprayer for white wash it will clog up we even tried a drywall texture gun and it clogged
