Quick walkaround of a pretty rare car, (or at least hard to find), the ST162 Toyota Celica GTS: front wheel drive sports coupe powered by the mighty 3SGE engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox. The GTS model came as a coupe, hatchback, and a convertible. The GTS also came standard with a 3SGE, whereas the ST and GT trim ST161 Celicas came with a 3sfe, i believe. All ST162 Celicas are front wheel drive, the All Trac being the only all wheel drive, and the only model above the GTS trim. The GTS trim also came standard with 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, and i believe different seats.
My car isnt the prettiest, isnt the cleanest, isnt the fanciest, things dont work on it and it has its issues, however, it runs and drives, and its a respected legend on its own, i absolutely love this car and id love to see what its capable of. If youre considering getting one, dont hesitate, just do it :)

I loved my 1986 Celica. It was my favorite car, ever... My brother-in-law agreed to restoring one for me, if I can only find one!

Okie dokie well here goes. I love American Muscle I enjoy sitting behind the wheel of a fucking five thousand pound tank. That being said has decision to make a while back where it was ripped down rebuild rewire repair revamp revive and repaint my contacts or buy one of these cars that you had. I didn't realize until answer losing position of that car in an accident how fucking rare they were. But your car was a blast to drive. It was quick and highly maneuverable. I had never owned a ricer before but it was tremendously fun I enjoyed it and I miss that car. Watching your video yours looked identical to the one I owned. I quickly figured it out I bought it from apparently somebody you sold it to. Same Mt rims I fixed the sunroof and yes it's still had that dent and busted running when I got . The fans were still rigged and I had no working tail lights except for the brake lights but it was a blast man. I hadn't studied up on these cars at all that's why I didn't realize how rare they were so this video and owning that car truly enlightened me. Swapped out probably a hundred clutches in my life but never on a trans mount, and I'll say having to swap out a clutch on a trans mount using the spare tire scissor jack because my floor jack broke was nothing short of a motherfuker and I learned from that I will never do that again. anyway I live in Garland it was a fun ride I seriously enjoyed it. My girlfriend absolutely hated that car and I think that made me love it just a little bit more.

It's amazing to hear this story, my brother- the man in the video- passed away a few years ago. We still see people with some of his old project cars drive around here and there. I always wondered what happened to this one after he got rid of it

I like the black door panels and the color of the paint of it. It looks really nice all around. I got one about a month or two ago but i have it in the shop because I live in california and we have to smog our cars. Of course mine doesn’t pass ): but the guy before me had it in a storage unit for 6 years so it’s in pretty decent condition. It was his daily so it has about the same miles as your. Almost to 300k but still runs like a champ. It’s a fun little car deff worth buying one and having it as a daily Mine leaks oil from the timing chain gasket I believe so i gotta fix that. But again nice car man i wish mine was black instead of white haha

Cool car, just a few things you were incorrect, I'd like to correct you on. 1: This is an ST-162 not a ST-165. 2: The alltrac (ST-165) comes with a 3SGTE not a 3SGE like this car does. They aren't even close in power nor are the comparable.
