I would love to know where everybody in college/their early 20's who's insulting this guy is getting the money to insure their GT/V8's... This guy is enjoying his car, sharing enthusiasm for modding, AND probably making wiser financial decisions. Keep it up!

Insuring a GT from this body style is dirt cheap.

Yeah there are plenty of reasons v6 beats v8 for newedge mustangs but insurance is not one of them. It's barely a difference. What you should be pointing out is the better reliability, gas mileage, still quick and fun. Only reason I even considered the v8 newedge is for that v8 rumble, which you can get pretty close to with a muffler delete
@dillonh321
@dillonh321 4 жыл бұрын
Bingo. I'm 19 and insurance for a v8 was almost double that of a v6. Plus the v6 uses less gas and cost less upfront. If it wasnt for getting a v6, I wouldnt be in college with little to no student debt.

Dillon Hawkins yup same goes for me I’m in high school and the v6 insurance is less expensive than the GT. I’m happy with my ‘01 v6 and I plan on keeping it for a very long time! It’s super reliable with that pushrod engine to, the new edge is getting pretty rare to I barely see them around. Keep up yours aswell!

And thats why our world is as divided as it is...why dont people just congradulate each other and say nice job man? He loves his car. It puts a smile on his face. And he is showing people who cant afford a Shelby 500 how to have fun in what they can afford. There is nothing wrong with that. He lives in the real world 99% of regular hard working folks live in. Maybe the negative comments are coming from the 1% that are driving an $80,000 dollar mustang with $35,000 in custom work. I for one, congradulate the bro for him sharing a part of his life with us.

Man i can afford to buy a v8, but sometimes in the long run it is better to spend less and enjoy what you have. I’m getting a v6 because one day i want a ‘67 mustang fastback, my two trucks are going under the knife(the wrench?) and my wife needs to use my jeep, so i need another car, and there is no point in spending the $6,000 (approx. market where I’m at) on a nice gt, when i can get a cheap v6 to have fun in and get me from a to b until i sell it or scrap it and save money in the long run. Think smarter financial wise. Besides the less power you have the harder it is to break stuff😂

It's called a true cold air intake. The filter is on the end of the pipe inside the fender where it can actually take in cold air. The "Cold air intakes" that you see with with filter still inside the engine compartment are actually still just sucking in the hot air emitted from the engine.

For the argument on the exhaust you can get a x pipe installed or do it yourself not hard at all. And for the argument on v6 vs v8 id go with the v6. With just a little tuning you can beat a 300hp v8 no problem. My friend has a twin turbo 3.8 that pushes over 600 hp.. eating up cocky V8 owners just sayin

You won't get in trouble with the law for not having cats, that's unheard of. Don't even worry. If your state has emissions testing, you should put a catted one on for that and then put the offroad one back on, if it's really worth it to you lol. In florida, we don't have emissions testing, I didn't have cats on my last car and my current car I don't either, the extra sound and a hp here and there is worth it.

You know i don't understand owning a muscle car that has V6 on it is such a big deal to others who most likely doesn't have a muscle car to begin with, then trash talk to those who has a v6.. its like comparing dicks.. I have a v6 (posted a video on my channel) mustang with a cobra kit on it, which looks just as good as a stock v8. Now i driven a v8 and a v6, and for sure there is power difference, but being a student and i am sure like for others v6 is the more sensible option, not to mention the high insurance rate i have to pay in canada.. and some also can't afford to only manage 10mpg while city driving with a v8..

Actually some of the 2004s did have the 3.8 (mine does but check under the hood for sure) if it was built as a 2004 model in late 2003. And for the 3,9 the block is exactly the same they just changed to stroke of the piston that's why almost all of the 3.8 and 3.9 mods are interchangeable. Just throwing in my two cents.

Still has catalytic converters so it isn't to loud, definitely gonna look into some dual exhaust for it after hearing yours. Did you ever switch it to dual rear wheel drive or left it stuck witch one wheel? How dumb was that of them to only have one tire spin? Lol that helps with speed alot of this car.

Did you notice a loss in low end power with the new exhaust?because im reading everywhere that you lose low end torque with a dual exhaust

That was nowhere near as loud as my 95 GT mustang, but she broke down. Now I have an 04 that sounds similar to this

Hey man your car looks great! I have the same model and just bought the same flowmaster 40, is there anything else you recommend I get before taking it in to the shop? Thanks!

I’ll give my 2 cents here. I own 2 Cobras. 94 and 03. Parts are expensive and hard to come by. My son has a 03 v6. He’s had a wreck before so insurance is high for a v8, and we have 2 LKQ close to us that have an abundance of v6 mustangs. So certain replacement parts can be a fraction of the cost. Not too many gt in the junkyard. !!! Build the v6 car, then later swap in a 302

Hey man I really love the ride I'm getting a 04 mustang v6 very soon I'm looking. I really don't give a shit if its v8 or not. Do u know of any decent setup that can configure the ride to a race car setting? I have a reasonable amount of money to change quite a few things. I'm planning on tearing the road up when I can figure out what to do with it :) much respect mustang guy

Buy a tuner, you'll have to if you want to see any gains from bolt on parts. I had an 04 v6 and dumped a good amount of change into it to get some more horsepower out of it and regret it now. I'm not hating on V6's I'm just saying if you want a "race car" get the GT or cobra. When I sold the 04 I bought a stock 00' GT and it was a world of difference. If you want to get power out of a V6 turbo it and tune it but to do that right you'll want to invest in forged internals to be safe. No point in spending thousands and having it blow up.

No, yours is not a 3.8, it is a 3.9. Completely different engine from a Buick actually, only in the 2004 series. I believe they did it to achieve a specific emissions rating while maintaining the same performance, and it may have been a bit cheaper. It will say on the underside of the hood, mine says 3.9.
