as an EMT working ALS, once u make it to ILS/ALS, keep your scope in one of ur cargo pockets, aggressive psych patients WILL grab anything and everything and a scope around ur neck is one of those also i and many other crewmates run pretty much the exact same edc!

Haha yeah. I'm not expecting to break a window or cut a seatbelt anytime soon, especially since fire would probably be on scene before me. But I can still dream!

My company serves a very rural area and we do our own extrications. We keep extrication suits and tools in the ambulance and we do advance extrication as well

Multi-tool can definitely help in EMS. I've used the pliers to turn the O2 tank on when I lost the O2 wrench / key and used the knife once in place of my shears that I gave off to someone else (not ideal but worked). Similar to EMS,, I was also working uniformed security once and I used the pliers on a Gerber MP600 to break the glass of a vehicle with an infant locked inside accidentally during a bad heat wave so you could see the benefits of that.

I'm currently an EMT In pre study. There's 2 more essentials you need to have on you at all times. This is advice from a Paramedic friend.. A roll of tape and a piece of plastic. So. You can? Treat puncture wounds immediately and not have to worry about digging your bag. Good. Luck? With. Your career stay safe? It's okay if you only do ifts. You're helping someone receive medical care from an advance facility or from their personal doctor congratulations on your certification.
