What does Martinez think of their hammer breaking in under a year?

I’ve been using an m1 for a few years. 15 oz head steel bolt. I have heard steel has better shear strength then titanium. I work in bridge construction primarily and do some remodeling when I can. Never had any issues aside from wearing out a handle.

Anyone that thinks that $300 for a tool you use every single day is a lot money… doesn’t actually use a hammer on a daily basis. I know guys that spend tens of thousands of dollars on aftermarket parts for their trucks, just to make them look “cool”, but will bust my chops about buying a Martinez hammer… well, I’ve been using my hammer everyday for years, without fail, and their trucks? Well, let’s just say I spent my money more wisely…

@@Grauenwolf you’re wrong, though… see, I can make many tens of thousands of dollars from my hammer, and in the process save myself years of tendon damage. Just for a couple hundred dollars? Also, comparing a tape measure to a hammer is disingenuous. A tape measure will last me 6 months, maximum. And I pay $30 or more for them. So, given the fact that my hammer is a lifetime tool, I don’t mind paying $300 for it. Again, this is setting aside the health benefits, which are priceless.

Metal fatigue is real I had a ratchet I took a few times way past the torque I thought it would take and was rated for and was surprised it still worked and then broke later down the road on a lot less torque

Titanium bolt too brittle? Wouldnt you want a grade 8 steel bolt?.

I prefere the slight weight savings of the titanium , steel is an option though

Welcome to the cost of professional/quality tools for the job. Ask your barber/stylist what they pay for their shears....easy $200-500

Anyone that would pay $350 for a hammer is Dumb $[-]!+ !!!! I have been a carpenter all my life and my 28oz Vaughan drivers nails better than a Titanium hammer could ever think of.

@@H43339 in my 10 years experience framing. Lowes hammers and Home Depot hammers don’t last. My m1 after 3 years still has a milled face not as sharp but still there. Now I did use my old craftsman hammer and holy cow it reminded me why I bought a Martinez. The craftsmen has a lot of vibration and for a 22oz hammer it doesn’t pack the same punch as my 15oz Martinez

@ScoopsTVtools Yes I am a carpenter, I have been one for Oh 50 years give or take, I am a custom roof cutter and stacker. So far the largest house I cut and stacked was a little over 20,000 sq ft. But I have framed apartments, tracks homes, multi story condos, done gov. work for the military you name it and I have built it. When I stated out we didn't have nail guns. Good Day P.S. I always had a 28oz Vaughan framing hammer. And my elbows are fine, I bet I can take you arm wrestling.
