Hi! I just want to say thank you. I didn't realize how much I needed this video, thanks. You saying that length doesn't really matter, and it's not that deep, really opened my eyes. I'm still new in my hair journey(less than a year), and I really cared about the length, until I saw this. Thanks.

I understand the cons of growing your hair out. I started my natural hair journey over eight years ago with a big chop (accidentally cut off half taking down braids and forgot my hair was braided into it...yeah!) when I started my hair would dry in about thirty minutes, now it takes a whole day to dry. I have not put any kind of heat on my hair in eight years. On most days after wash day, I'm in tears because I need to take a nap (due to my illness on a lot of pain medication which caused drowsiness) and can't because my hair is still wet lol! Also, because it has grown, bra length, I have to shampoo my hair in the shower because it gets caught in the sink drain, and standing for a very long time on an injured leg causes more pain, I suffer on wash day, can't shampoo in the sink and can't stand long in the shower, then I have to get in and out because, I deep condition my hair every wash day which requires leaving it on for at least thirty minutes before washing out, so back to the shower, you feel me lol! Sorry for the long post but enjoy your hair it's a gift.

You are so pretty. You have a very nice figure. Your hair is so thick, pretty and very long. I personally wear custom wigs 99% of the time but keep my real hair in single plaits underneath. I haven't flat ironed, straightened my hair since 2014 or 2015. I just keep my hair routine as basic as possible and my real hair is around mid back Great video! 😍

i did my big chop yesterday and i don't really know my hair type... half of my head is still not 100% natural but my baby hair looks like its a smooth 4a hair. though my back looks like 4c. I'm very confused and i'm not able to do stuff like cantu and other products because it may take time for me to turn 100% natural. for now i will be learning to do my own protective styles cause my mom works way too much and i don't wanna make her more tired. 2020 is gonna be a rough journey but here i come. i'm hoping by at least November that my hair will be how i want it to be

I was natural from birth-12 years old and then relaxed/transitioning from 12-14/15 years old and now I'm 16 about to be 17 and back to natural with I would say medium length beginner back length hair last time I checked. I had to beg my mom to let me relax my hair and I'm glad I did and she was not for me having a relaxer. Even tho she has been on and off relaxers her whole life due to the ambiguity in my family and their mixed emotions on natural hair since they have looser hair. My father side of the family is mostly natural with 3a-4b type of hair. And her side is anywhere from type 2-3 with me and her being type 4a/4b with a hint of 3c for her. My mom is currently 98% natural as with her last trim she will be completely natural and I will neverrrr relax my hair again and I beg her not to relax hers. Our hair is too pretty for that mess (not matter if the curl is tight or loose) and I know some people may be for relaxed hair so I'll just keep the rest of what I have to say to myself. Being relaxed was just terrible, I only did it so I could wear my hair out without negative comments from my aunts and them saying the stuff I could not do with my hair. Like I can't put water on it which is so false, my hair thrives on being wet so you can see they don't know much about hair type since they have looser hair and some of them, hair broke off from relaxing type 2 hair like that's so weird to me. Now that I'm natural my hair looks better, doesn't split or break easily, and has way more versatility and movement than that thin stringy mess.

Does natural hair hurt when your brush comb it ? Is it also true that if you have natural hair lice can go in it? My mom says that these things happen if you go natural.
@Ariannalyf
@Ariannalyf 4 жыл бұрын
The texture of your hair has nothing to do with whether or not it hurts when you brush/comb it. Pain has to do with the sensitivity of your scalp. When tangles occur, it can hurt natural hair people more because only because it’s easier for curly/kinky hair to experience tangles. But for some curly haired people, combing and brushing doesn’t hurt. All people can get lice. It has nothing to do with the texture of your hair. All I will say is ask yourself who experiences lice more? Black people (people with kinky/curly hair) or white people (people with straight hair). Once you do some research on that, you will have your answer. Don’t believe everything that your family members tell you. You can listen to them & respect them, but ALWAYS do your own research. Just because they are family doesn’t mean that they can’t misguide you. ❤️💕
