Swimming is a life skill and should be taught to ALL children. In some countries it is required to be taught in school (with licensed instructors of course). It is so important.
@velvety20067 ай бұрын
when I learned to swim some people commented that i was 'too small for swimming lessons' I was at the required age and my mom put me in the classes because i was small and could not reach the bottom even on the shallow end and she wanted me to be able to get to the sides at least.
@Ihrlutschtdochalle7 ай бұрын
Yes, for a land bound species swimming is a "life skill"😂😂 It's good to know how to swim, but it's not really essential, is it ?😂
@velvety20067 ай бұрын
@@Ihrlutschtdochalle it depends on where you live i say, in the Netherlands there are a lot of places with water, canals etc. so yea being able to swim to at least reach the shore is a necessity
@raerohan42417 ай бұрын
@@Ihrlutschtdochalle We don't qualify as a land-bound species. The fact we can learn to swim (and dive!) at all, naturally, ensures that. Maybe you never learnt to swim, but it's very arrogant to think no one can have skills if you don't lol
@Ihrlutschtdochalle7 ай бұрын
@@raerohan4241 so maybe you didn't read my comment properly. I actually told you that it's a "good skill to learn", but it isn't essential. And of course we are land bound, how else would we be able to breath the oxygen out of air, but not under water ?😂😂😂🤣 Before i forget it, i can swim, but it's quite interesting how you project problems you have on to other people 😂

My first memory is of drowning. I was about 1.5 years old, but I actually remember a lot about that day. My mom was shocked when I asked her about it because I wasn't sure if it was a dream or what. My mom had worked for the public pools in our city for several years. She started as a life guard, gave swim lessons, and a slew of other tasks. That day I remember she told me that she was giving private swimming lessons and we drove to some nice houses a city away. I remember it was a hot summer day and wanted to climb into the pool. She has taken me"swimming" before, so I thought I'd be ok. Everyone was done with their swim lesson and going inside. I went on the top step of the pool and remember slipping into the water. I was thrashing around but saw the pool cover was sliding into place and tried to scream while staying afloat. Thankfully someone found me, but I had nightmares about the pool cover closing over me for years after. Long story short, ISR is underrated.

Every child should go through this course to better prepare them for the possibility of drowning. I watched Granger and Emily Smith put their son Mavie through this after losing their son River to drowning at age 3. I can’t imagine their hearts watching Mavie struggle in water after finding their son River lifeless but now at least Mav has a chance of survival. I applaud u for allowing your child to do this course and btw she’s soooooo adorable ❤️🥰❤️!!!
