I’ve never been able to use it - I think I was born with dry skin! I got married in January at 25 and my biggest fear was having people wonder why my husband was marrying the lizard woman from the circus! I started using skin care lines meant for those much older while still in my 20s. I felt a bit anxious as I aged and wondered what the heck I was going to do when I actually hit the age of the products I’d been using!

Hi Lisa, thank you for all of the recommendations, I'm looking for a good sunscreen so i will check this one out. My mother had a beautiful complexion and skin, her only skin regiment was Dove soap, that was it. She would get asked a lot about what she used, and when she would tell people they wouldn't believe her, lol. Great video, have a wonderful weekend. 💕

My skin tone is close to yours. I do live in AZ & am considering moving to FL. I have had melasma & nothing put a dent in it until I found out there is Pico Sure laser good for all skin tones including darker skin tones. Expensive but worth it. Had 2 treatments so far. With what is remaining at this point, I started using Cera Ve 10% vitamin c $19.99 at Target AM & PM and it is actually fading my melasma, so much that I may only need 1 more treatment. I am 68 years of age.

I have been watching Dr. Davin Lim on Australian dermatologist for the last two years and he has so many before and after shots using the pico on Asian skin. I definitely have put that thought in my back pocket. But I worry about spending the money and then still being out in the sun, and I just wasting my money.

Hi Lisa! Yes, manual exfoliated skin products are coming back!!! What’s old is new like the Dove Beauty Bar. I have manually exfoliated my skin as part of my daily shower routine forever followed by moisturizer. I firmly believe it is why my skin is in such good shape at 63 (pic is from last year). Serums have only entered my life since early 2021. I now use a Buff Puff (another oldie but goodie) on some days and still use St. Ives “scrub” but not the apricot scrub. I use the Pink Lemon/mandarin or Coconut/coffee scrubs which are less abrasive. Here’s my conundrum: “They” say some scrub particles are too sharp and leave tiny tears in the skin which is bad. But “they” say micro needling the face damages the skin triggering the body to create more collagen. What’s the difference? Fortunately I haven’t had negative experiences with facial scrubs. Now, if I could fix the jowls that are developing….lol.
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique 2 жыл бұрын
I never thought about that with micro needling and scrubs. What a great comparison. “They” are always changing their mind about what is safe, effective, and the best for our skin. I say we’d depend on how our skin is actually looking and feeling. Of course I get an annual dermatologist check to make sure I don’t have any pre-cancerous spots which fortunately I have not had, my husband has some frozen off every year.

Hi Lisa! Love your channel. I'm 50 and have very oily skin. I'm looking to improve my skin texture. Would you have any recommendations? Thank you so much and keep up the great work!
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique 2 жыл бұрын
Are you using any niacinamide? I definitely think that’s a plus for oily skin it helps stop the oil production and reduce the size of pores. Of course my favorite serum is DRMTGY needle-less serum, but you can just get a straight niacinimide from the ordinary at Ulta! I’d also try a glycolic toner a few times a week to exfoliate, You can use an AHA/BHA product or the ordinary glycolic toner also at Ulta. Just start out one or two times a week until your skin adjusts because you don’t wanna strip all the necessary oil’s trying to even out your texture

Me again! I am currently using DRMTGY Needle-less serum and DRMTGY C5. I am wondering if I should add DRMTGY CE+F for brown spots and hyperpigmentation. If you think yes, how and in what order?
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique Жыл бұрын
I don't think you need it and the C-5 as they are both forms of vitamin C and that is the number one ingredient that causes skin irritation so you don't want to overdo it. You might try like the LA serum. You would just use it at a different times than the C-5 (O use C5 during day and LA 2-3 times a week at noght). But both can be used with Needle Less.

Can u recommend a routine for milia. You are gorgeous!
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique Жыл бұрын
Milia is a build up of keratin…I think, lol. My philosophy has always been just to dry them out, So I put just a teeny bit of a retinol, I actually have tretino, in on a tiny micro tip applicator and dan directly on bumps and avoid extra moisturizer on area. It seems to work for me!! Then I get lazy and start slathering moisturizer everywhere and heavy eye creams and then the milia comes back. And then I have to switch to my “dry them up again” process

Would you say that the tinted moisturiser would be good for people of colour? And do you find that either of the sunscreens leave a white cast (that you have noticed)? Unfortunately I can't use the links as most times, the companies don't deliver to my country 😔
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique 2 жыл бұрын
I think the universal tinting moisturizer absorbs in and would not leave a cast on even people with darker skin, because in the summer my skin is pretty dark I am pretty far towards the end of tan/dark whenever purchasing foundations and it works great on me. The physical sunscreen is a little harder to blend in and might leave a light cast. They also have a clear sunscreen but I’ve never really used it, I just see it on their website.

If I understand correctly, you use Elf moisturizer in the morning and la mer in the evening? Is that right? What is the difference?
@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique Жыл бұрын
Yes, the difference is the heaviness. The La Mer is almost too creamy on the skin, though I have used it during day before, but it almost makes my skin too slick for makeup. Once it fully absorbs it’s better but that’s like in an hour, not 5 minutes 😂

@LisaMonique
@LisaMonique 2 жыл бұрын
I use them as the last step, even over my sunscreen lol because I want to put everything on my face and then be able to walk away from the sink. I leave the mask on for about 10 minutes sometimes longer I’ll go down and make my coffee or I will start to blow dry my hair. And then once I remove the mask I rub that lovely serum in up and around my eyes, it’s glorious. I told them they should make it into a neck mask/serum

I usually do not, i’ll just use my regular moisturizer, and when I’m using the eye mask, that is a definite ton of moisturizer around the eye. I’ve tried a million different eye creams and I have some that i like, like the Tatcha Silk Peony, and occasionally I will use them and it’s not that I don’t like them but if they’re too heavy they really emphasize that chicken skin texture and make my milia worse, so I have to be careful what I use
