This is super rare. There are tons and tons of summer camps in the states, so the odds of not finding one to be placed at is super low. I imagine if they really cannot find one, they provide some sort of refund/compensation x

sometimes you can do mixed but usually its boys in charge of boys and vice versa for women

Yeah, as @RekonzChannel said, for general counsellor it's males with male campers and females with female campers typically. Especially for living situations (so females staying in female accommodation and vice versa). You do interact with both male and female campers though. At our camp, we were mixed for evening activities, hikes and road trips for example. Also the activity leaders are a combination of female and male working with female and male mixed. So you spend time with both female and male campers but will be living with/primarily working with campers of your same gender :)

So, mine cost £100 because I had to go private. My doctor's surgery wouldn't complete it on the NHS (which was super annoying), but this depends on your G.P and their licensing. Also, I lived in York at the time which is infamous for being expensive, so another private doctor's appointment may be less expensive.

@@itsevelinakp You pay the flight and agency fees prior to earning your wage so I probably broke even, when including DBS fees and stuff x

If I do return to the summer camp, I would go directly through the camp instead of through Americamp as it is cheaper. But if I were to do it for the first time again, I would use Americamp again (if that makes sense).
