I've always loved the ever growing respect Michael ALWAYS shows for Oliveira, to the point where he received flack from a portion of the Muslim/Dagestani community for even thinking Charles could win against Islam. Chandler wondered if the quit was in Charles before their title fight but he's shown nothing but admiration for Charles' string of impressive performances and character.

His cardio is fine. He just gets too enthusiastic every time and then seems to forget everything, and he takes a lot of unnecessary damage. He needs to learn to stay cool, calm and collective. Let’s not ignore this time. Possibly the best lightweight era of all time. Michael Chandler Dustin Poirier Charles Oliveira Justin Gaethje All in their prime, all elite, all willing to get in there and bang. Enjoy this moment while it lasts.

Light Heavyweight had its prime years when Jonny Bones was around - Glover Teixera, Rampage Jackson, Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustafson, Rashad Evans, etc Yesterday’s LHW is today’s LW - best overall division in the promotion

A lot of people are saying Dariush got exposed, and questioning how good he really is after all. But it's not about Beneil being bad, it's about how good Charles is. Charles is just on another level right now and no one's been able to beat him at Lightweight except Islam for many, many years. He's on fire, and I wanna see him get his belt back.

People forget that the UFC pretty much forced Charles to take the Islam fight, not only take the fight, but WHEN to take the fight. He had asked for time to heal/train, on top of asking for the fight to be in his backyard or at least on this side of the world when they did fight. But the UFC said no, we have to have Islam fight for the title in Abu Dhabi. This was within 4 months of his fight with Gaethje. A traditional camp is 12 weeks, that's 3 months. So he had 1 month to let his body heal, go straight into a camp, dieting etc. And when you're in camp, you aren't really getting better in the ways you'd need to take on someone like Islam. It was pretty unfair and when I look back on the whole weight miss and stripping, I wonder about it. And I know how crazy that may seem, but you have to at least wonder. The entire thing was weird, and it opened up Islam fighting for the title in just a few months.
