Used this when I was a kid as a dandruff remedy, surprisingly effective!

Science: biochem: the disulphide bonds are broken with neutral pH. Lowering the pH to 5.5 to 4.5 rebounds the disulphide bonds, so it smooths the cuticles. I’m making old peach vinegar, I also finished strawberry top vinegar. Since my hair is brown it doesn’t matter what kind of non-distilled vinegar.

The only thing that scares me about this video is the glass jar joining the shower. I love all jars, but just from a past experience with some shampoo in a glass dispenser I got from an eco mart fell over in the shower, and thankfully I wasn't in the shower with it. Made a sharp mess. I cab't wait to try this!

Use a silicone cup, that's what I do. I have one from the baby department that I got when my oldest was a newborn. It's nice because it is designed to bend with the shape of a head, to keep it out of the eyes. I love my ACV rinse, but not in the eyes. 😅

I use a refillable plastic sauce bottle from the dollar store. Usually they have small caps on them, bonus points if the caps are attached.

I love ACV rinses! We are on well water so it’s essential to keep minerals from building up in our hair.

Will this cause hair with blonde highlights to go brassy at all? Asking bc I’d really like to try!
@itsbreellisАй бұрын
Honestly I’m unsure on that. I’ve only used this with non bleached hair.

I would suggest making lemon vinegar and testing on a spot. Lemon junk, like juiced lemons, chop it up put it in a jar with water and sugar, coffee filter and mix it up every day for about a month. (I do a half cup sugar with fruit scraps and fill to a low canning level)

Hey Bre, what are you using as a lather? I used to follow Bronner's with ACV when my hair was v short, but as it grew, it held onto a film from the soap. Any suggestions? I know you know this already, but your hair looks incredible.
@HalleluYahuahАй бұрын
I know you didn't ask me, haha, but I've been doing this for 12 years, and after trial and error, I have found that just regular bar soap with all natural ingredients(homemade preferably) is the best for washing my hair. I have thick, wavy, "normal"(not oily, not dry), not chemically treated, hair. However, different things work for different hair types. This works great for me with any kind of water too (ie hard/mineral rich/etc). I agree with her about the cold rinse, I turn the hot all the way off and "zap" with cold water after applying the ACV, and combing out tangles before leaving the shower.
@Wonderland_HomesteadАй бұрын
@HalleluYahuah thanks for your input! I have similar but very porous hair, which might be part of the issue. Bar soap typically gives me that body film I can't stand, but I have a gift bar put up for emergencies. I'll try it next wash and see how it feels with the ACV.

@@HalleluYahuah have you tried soapberries?
@HalleluYahuahАй бұрын
@@Wonderland_Homestead I have not tried soap berries, at least not for my hair! 😅 If you are going from standard shampoo to anything natural, there is definitely a transition period of gross feeling hair, it your hair getting used to not having all the chemicals. My transition took about a week, I did it while on vacation from work, because I had heard it would be an ordeal. Good luck!
@Eve.N178223 күн бұрын
@HalleluYahuah that's a quick transition. Mine took up to at least 3 to 6 months before my hair felt good again. Usually that is what being told, transitioning will take up to 3 months. And it depends on which shampoo bar you are using. Not all brands/ ingredients give the same hair feeling. And it's different for every person also...😅 to make it easier. 🤭
